2. When Ver.170 of SYS-ROM is changed to Ver.180, there is no need to perform
[Work after
ROM change].
(When Ver.160 is changed, be sure to perform [Work after ROM change].

Carry out the following procedure after changing ROMs.
1. Initialization of image parameters *Note1 (1) [1] +[3]+[POWER] : While pressing keys [1] and [3] simultaneously, turn on the main switch. (2) Wait about 10~20 seconds. The main switch is turned off when the following messages appear on the LCD.

2. Initialization of image quality control Please refer to "3. Image Quality Control Adjustment" on the "25 ADJUSTMENT" page of the unpacking instructions for the FC22. (1) [0] +[5]+[POWER] (2) Key in code "879" and press the START key. Wait about 3 minutes.
3. Automatic Calibration of Gradation
Please refer to "4. Automatic Calibration of Gradation" on the "26 ADJUSTMENT" page of the Unpacking Instructions for the FC22. (1) Select the cassette for A3 (or LD) sized paper. (2) [For TEXT and MAP modes] a. Key in code "4" and then press the SETTING key. The test chart is output. b. Set the test chart on the original glass. c. Key in code "643" and press the START key. Wait a few seconds. d. Press the "2" key, the START key and INTERRUPT key in that order. e. After the message "SCAN COMPLETED" appears, press the START key. f. After the message "COMPLETED" appears, press the STOP key. (3) [For PHOTO made] a. Key in code "5", then press the SETTING key. The test chart is output. b. Set the test chart on the original glass. c. Key in code "643" and press the START key. Wait a few seconds. d. Press "3" key, the START key and INTERRUPT key in that order. e. After the message "SCAN COMPLETED" appears, press the START key. f .After the message "COMPLETED" appears, press the STOP key.
4. Turn off the main switch.

Initialization of image parameters When initialization of the image parameters is performed, the following adjustment value will be changed to the initial value. Please readjust if needed. Please refer to page 1-73 from page 1-69 in the Service Handbook.

1. In order to solve the edge smearing of OHP, we have changed the default value of the transfer bias output as shown below.

* As the default values are not automatically changed to new values, please reset the new default value after replacing with updated ROMs. * For the application of the ROM at the factory, it is not necessary, because the default value stored in the RAM data was changed to a new one.

2. We have improved the variation of the transfer bias output timing which caused poor image transfer at the leading edge of the paper.
3. In order to solve the problem of the black spots at the leading edge in the black mode, we have changed the suction bias output timing.
4. When the cassette is quickly installed, it sometimes happened that the cassette tray was not raised. We have resolved this firmware bug problem.
5. In order to improve the paper skewing, we have changed the value of paper alignment codes as shown below.
Notes) * As the default values are not automatically changed to new values, please reset the new default value after replacing with updated ROMs. * For the application of the ROM at the factory, when the ROM is replaced, the reset of the following code is not necessary. * A wrong default "14" have been found in the present Handbook.

6. When the machine power is turned on with the [KR-7037(Z4)] controller, "Check power and cable" is displayed on the KR-7037(Z4) control panel and the machine sometimes locks up. We have improved this issue.
7. We have corrected that the following output check which was not operating.

8. When the edge erase mode is selected and an OHP is fed from the cassette , the trailing edge void was not made. We have corrected this firmware bug.
9. When the front door is opened in the Fiery scanning operation, the scanning is stopped forcibly and these color image data and the next color image data are not usable. We corrected this firmware bug.
10. We have corrected the staining in the Black mode.

11. We modified to make paper selection for both Full bleed (12 x 18 inch) and [THICK1-3] at the same
time in bypass feed set up menu.
12. We have improved the return of the initial setup menu immediately after calibration has been
performed by user.
In the old version, the paper size was set as A3/LD and the printed image mode, and it did not return to the Initial setup menu.
13. The following codes is added.
