CONTENT

If the digital copier option which has the print saver function of NetWare (e.g., KR-7016, SC-1,
etc.) is used under the following conditions, the packet (NetWare specifications) which is sent from
the option to the ISDN line continues to stays flow (the ISDN line is maintained). The result is that the
communications cost is increased.

Dial-up router and the conditions in which ISDN line can be connected to the
Network

In the applicable products given above, if the above conditions are confirmed by checking the
setting situation, contact the network managers to perform the following treatment.

When a router can be set

When the option packet is to be filtered (Mac address) by dial-up router and ISDN router.

Note

Filtering is not possible in some actual conditions. [In WAN condition, NetWare (IPX/SPX) is used]

When a router cannot be set

(1) When an applicable option is not used in NetWare

If NetWare is not set (e.g., if KR-7016 is used, NetWare is "None".)

(2) When an applicable option is used in NetWare

The file saver name and the frame type must be specified according to the Manual for each
option.
