In the staple sort mode with "rear stapling" or "front stapling" in one place using two originals and making three or more copies of each, after the first sheet of the first set has entered the staple tray, it can happen that a front cover open jam may occur. When this jam has been cleared and copying resumed, the paper will exit without the first set being stapled. These are the normal specifications. But in the present error, during the exiting and stapling of the second set as the third set is entering the staple tray, it presses against the trailing edge of the second set. This causes the sheets to pile up and a stacking error occurs.
