CONTENT

When periodic maintenance is performed, clean the fuser unit upper entrance guide shown in this
BSI. If this is not done, toner will become stuck to the fuser unit upper entrance guide edge area
causing the paper to become erased and creating paper jamming. This may occur especially in
copiers which make a lot of duplex copier.
Since this information was not given in "Periodic Inspection Check List" in the Service Handbook,
details are included in this BSI.

Clean the capton mylar (especially, the edge) of the entrance guide. When the toner is sticking l
firmly, clean by shaving it off with a ruler.
When cleaning, be careful no to damage the paper transfer side (mylar leading edge).l
