CONTENT
Step-type image slipping may occur in the field due to surrounding conditions. As a countermeasure,
the image data harness between the IMG board and the SYS board has been changed to a shield
one. Due to the addition of a harness band and a conducting clamp, harness installation has also
been changed.
When the shield harness is installed in the field, be sure to do this according to "Instructions for the
installation of the shield harness".

Instructions for the installation of the shield harness
The harness between IMG-PCB/J-34 and SYS-PCB/J71 has been changed to a shield one.
When you exchange this shield harness with the current one, please use the following
procedure.
[Necessary Parts]
Shield Harness ( WH-EXM-222E or WH-EXM-220E2): 1 pc
Clamp / CLP/W-EMT-6N: 1 pc
Fixing band: 1 pc
Screw (M4): 1 pc, Nut (M4): 1 pc
** Current Harness
WH-EXM-220 or WH-EXM-220E (with tube): 1 pc
connecting between IMG-PCB/J-34 and SYS-PCB/J71 .
** Replacing procedure
1-14: Removing the current harness , 15-20 : Installing the new harness
1. Remove the rear cover ( M4 screws 9 pcs).
2. Remove the paper feeding cover ( M4 screws 9 pcs ).
3. Remove the right lower paper feeding cover ( M4 screws 2 pcs ).
4. Remove two of the shield plates from the paper feeding side ( M4 screws 10 pcs ).
5. Remove the rear shield plate ( only loosen the screws ).
6. Remove the glass ( M4 screws 2 pcs ).
7. Remove the upper paper feeding cover ( M4 screws 2 pcs ).
8. Remove the lens cover plate ( M3 screws 12 pcs ).
9. Remove the harness from J34 connector of IMG-PCB.
10. Take out the removed harness from the scanner frame.
11. Remove the harness from J71 connector of SYS-PCB.
12. Remove the ferrite core from the fixing position on the harness. ( M4 screw 1 pc ).
13. Remove the current harness from the copier completely.
14. Install the new harness on J34 connector of IMG-PCB ( refer to Photo-1 ).
15. Install the new harness to SYS-PCB ( refer to Photos 2 & 3 ).
16. Install the ferrite core on the harness again ( M4 screw 1 pc ).
17. Connect the harness with J71 of SYS-PCB ( refer to Photo 3).
18. Install the added clamp for field grounding, and fix it with screws and a nut ( refer to Photos 4 &
5 ).
19. Install the added holding band and fix on the case plate ( refer to Photos 6 & 7 ).
20. After that, reinstall the various covers.
