CONTENT
In response to field demand, there are request that the polygonal motor noise during standby is lessened. The measures are shown below. As the measure requires the polygonal motor to be stopped, the first copy time is delayed by approx.
4.5 sec. than the usually is the case. Therefore, to gain understanding for the machine, it is necessary to be able to explain to the needs of users.

Noise Countermeasure Method
The starting time should be polygonal changes from a slow speed to a high speed during standby.

ROM Version
This countermeasure has been already put into application from December 1997. However, machines made before that need to have their ROM versions upgraded. Please check the ROM kits
listed below dispatched from Yanagicho Works in March to enable this upgrading to be executed. In the case of machines which have not yet had this change applied, after using one of the ROM kits listed below, be sure to carry out the instructions given in this BSI.
