1. In the stapling mode, the following three items have been changed. (1) If it is judged because of one of the two reasons below that the tray has moved during the
stopping time of the operation, then, because the tray position is returned to the initial one, the paper on the staple tray would be made to exit. However, if there is no influence caused by the movement of the tray on the paper passing through, copying can be continued without forced initialization. * If the staple tray has stopped with paper on it (paper-empty etc.) and is then moved by someone.
* According to the stopping position of the tray up-down motor clock detection sensor, the stopping height of the tray will have been detected.
(2) When an EA4 jam occurs before the staple tray paper detection sensor detects 1st paper on the
staple tray, even though the jammed sheet of paper remains on the tray, it will be judged that there is no paper. Moreover, when paper is removed from places other than the staple tray, judgment is made that all paper has been removed, and the operation can be started again. However, due to the continuing presence of the jammed sheet on the staple tray, initialization will be hindered and a CB1 or CB2 error (service call) will result.
As a countermeasure, when such jams occur (paper cannot be detected on the staple tray), it has
been arranged for a fixed-time exit roller to rotate and to clear the jammed sheet on the staple tray, thus preventing the occurrence of such an error.
(3) After the last paper has been loaded on to the staple tray, if an EA4 jam occurs before the start of
the stapling operation, copying will be reactivated after the clearance of the jam. Then the next batch of paper will be stacked on top of the current one and both stapled together. This problem has been corrected.

2. When the finisher is full and paper is removed, it used to take about 10 seconds for the finisher-full status to be cleared. This time has been reduced to about 2 seconds.
3. When copying is interrupted due to a problem (paper jam, toner empty etc.), initialization of the operation can be made by opening and closing the front cover of the copier but due to the power supply off timing, the initialization of the finisher may not be over (C58 error) and in this case been rectified.
