caught on the rear frame, and the cassette cannot be setted properly.

[Countermeasure]
The contact point of the rear frame (FRAME-REAR) and the used toner cover (COVER-BTL-IN) has
been cut off (above red shaded area) so that it cannot become caught.

The rear frame Number (FRAME-REAR/4402903100) and the used toner cover
(COVER-BTL-IN/4400682480) have not been changed.

In copiers to which the above countermeasure has not been applied, the countermeasure part for the
field should be also applied as shown below.

1. Remove the cassette and the used toner bottle.

2. Clean the upper face of tray frame "1" (TRAY-FRAME-R).

3. Peel off the protective sheet (double-sided tape) attached to the bottom plate of the
countermeasure part in the field "2".

4. The edge point of the countermeasure part "2" in the field has been inserted into the gap of the

rear frame "3" and the used toner cover "4" (refer to figure 2), attached to the tray frame so as to
center the used toner window in the rear frame "3".

5. Reinstall the cassette and the used toner bottle as they were.

Note) For application in Chinese factory-made products from Apr. 1997 to Sep. 1997 (refer to the

serial number bellow), a sponge has been attached to two points on the used toner cover. If
the countermeasure part is applied still installed on the copier, it is possible to prevent
vertical movement of the used toner bottle. This may cause the toner-full detection sensor
not to work. When the countermeasure part is to be installed to the copier in the field, be sure
to remove the two sponges first.
