CONTENT
[Phenomenon] Abnormal noises from the driving unit and incorrect developer may be caused by the rubbing of the developer driving gear (P4/Item 16) within the drive unit and the toothed edge of the developer unit gear (P18/Item 5).
1550, 1560
FIELD APPLICATION
To be applied when necessary

UNIT
Drive Section
DTM-F7808/7X03
[Cause] The drive unit has been deformed in the rear direction because of shock occasioned during the installation of the process unit. The developer driving gear within the drive unit and the engagement of the developer gear do not synchronize and the toothed edge is rubbed.
[Countermeasure] To prevent drive unit deformation, the shaft length in the drive unit (P4 Item 13/developer drive gear insertion side) has been extended and made to contact against the rear frame. In order to prevent vibration noise in the aligning area, a rubber sheet has been added to be attached to the rear frame.

Note: Though the current shaft is also used for drum driving, the drum driving shaft has not been
changed.
[Measure in the field] In copiers to which the above countermeasure has been applied, the gears rubbed by the toothed edge should be replaced. The countermeasure part for the field only (spacer) should be also applied as shown below.

[Note Regarding Application at the Factory for the 1560]
Since application at the factory for the 1560 is from Nov. 1997, current copiers (1st Lot from Oct. at the factory) should use the field countermeasure listed above (attachment of spacer). However, the countermeasure has been applied to the 1560 from the first lot.
