[ Phenomenon ] There are 3 types of toner (toner bottle) : for the 6550/5540, for the 7550/7650/7660 and for the 6560/5560. It could happen that the wrong type of toner bottle may be inserted.

[ Cause ] If the toner bottle for other models was used by mistake ;

a. The toner bottle is set and the stopper is released. b. The handle can be pulled because the stopper has been released. c. However, when handle's projection has a different position from hollow of the lid of the toner

bottle, the lid does not open.

(When the correct bottle is used) Because the handle's projection fits into hollow of the toner bottle's lid, the lid can be opened by pulling the handle.

d. At this time, if the seal of the toner bottle's lid is pulled excessively, the bottle's lid will be

forced open. As a result, the wrong toner will be added. [ Countermeasure ] If the seal attached the toner bottle lid cannot be pulled out, a wrong toner can be prevented from being added . So, the seal has been shortened so as not to come out beyond the edge of the lid.
