CONTENT

The LCD backlight (liquid crystal touch panel) has been newly established as a service part.
Replacement instructions are as follows.

< Replacement Instructions>

(1) Remove the control panel from the copier.
(2) Remove the LCD unit (K-LCD-TOUCH-154) from the control panel.
(3) Uncrimp the 6 places (arrow "1" on the back view shown below).
(4) Remove the screw (arrow "2" on the front view).
(5) Raise the backlight side of the metal frame by 5 mm (the right-hand side of the front view, as

<Note>

1. As stated above it is assumed that static electricity during handing results in damage to the IC
which adversely affects the display. Service personal should be provided with sufficient earthing
to avoid the creation of static electricity as much as possible.

2. To avoid the piling up of bits of rubbish, it is preferable to carry out the work in as clean an
environment as possible.

3. For this replacement work, there is no guarantee for the performance or quality of the LCD
provided by the makers. So one should be aware that errors could arise in the LCD functions as a
result of this replacement work. In such a case, change the LCD unit immediately.
