CONTENT
The LCD (6550 series) backlight has been available as a service part. Replacement instructions are
as follows.
< Replacement instructions >
( 1 ) Remove the control panel from the copier.
( 2 ) Remove the LCD unit (LCD-DSP-150) from the control panel.

( 3 ) Stretch out the caulked portions (10 places) of the metal-frame so that it is flat.
( 4 ) Place the LCD unit display screen with face "A"(Fig.1) downward on a table and take out the PC
board upwards.

( 5 ) Remove the backlight unit (CFL-DSP-150).
Note : When removing the backlight unit, be careful not to move the rubber
connector.

( 6 ) Install a new backlight unit.
( 7 ) When installing the metal-frame(Fig.2) to the LCD panel, push the metal-frame as that it could
be contacted the window of the LCD panel.

( 8 ) Reinstall the PC board. (Carefully aligning the positions of the PC board holes with the caulked
portion of the metal-frame, insert it.)
( 9 ) While fixing the PC board, bend the caulked portion of the metal-frame back to their original
shape.
( 10 ) Install the LCD unit in the control panel.
( 11 ) Install the control panel in the copier, turn the power on and then check that the display is
normal. (If the display is abnormal, repeat steps 1 to 10 and check again.)
< NOTE >
1. As stated above it is assumed that static electricity during handling results in damage to the IC
which adversely affects the display.
Service man should be provided with sufficient earthing to avoid the creation of static electricity
as much as possible.
