(1) Correction of errors in AMS (automatic magnification selection)( For Models : 2860. 2870)

When AMS was used with copiers without a document feeder, the magnification has been in
correctly set. This has now been revised and the right message is now displayed.

(2) A setting code for the use of the function clear mode when there is no key copy counter has been

added.
When there is no key copy counter inserted, an setting mode 08 code 133 has been added to

enable the use of or nonuse of the function clear mode.
Input value = 0 : Machines which have no key copy counter inserted can use the function clear

mode.

1 : Machines which have no key copy counter inserted cannot use the function

clear mode. .

(1) Countermeasures to poor fixing for paper which is narrower than the width of B4 size.

When multicopying is performed with paper which is narrower than the width of B4 size,
depending on the type of paper or original use, poor fixing could occur. As a counter measure to
this, a method of controlling the fixing temperature has been changed.

(2) Addition of PROM service parts in various languages

A PROM in various European languages has been added to the service parts.

In multicopying , the temperature of the edge of the heat roller rises, and it is necessary to
prevent damage to the components. So a system to control the fall of the temperature has been
for these models as follows.

( Step 1 ) At the 20th sheet or whenever thermistor 2 determines 230OC , whichever is quicker

: T - 10OC = 190OC ( If the set temperature : T is 200OC )

( Step 2)At the 30th sheet or whenever thermistor 2 determines 235 OC whichever is quicker

: T - 20OC = 180OC ( If the set temperature : T is 200OC)

( Step 3 ) 70th sheet ( Changed at the 1000th sheet )

: T - 30 OC = 170OC ( If the set temperature : T is 200OC )
But step 3 only occurs if the width of the paper is narrower than the width of B4 size
( B4, A4-R, A5-R, LG, LT-R, ST-R, etc.)

If the set temperature of the heater is 200 OC ( setting mode 08 code 6 : input value is " 6 ". )
