GeneralOperation
Read,understand,andfollowallinstructionsinthe
operator'smanualandonthemachinebeforestarting.
Donotplacehandsorfeetnearrotatingpartsorunder
themachine.Keepclearofthedischargeopeningatall times.
Allowonlyresponsibleadultswhoarefamiliarwiththe
instructionstooperatethemachine.
Cleartheareaofobjectssuchasrocks,toys,wire,etc.,
whichcouldbepickedupandthrownbytheblade.
Besuretheareaisclearofotherpeoplebeforemowing.
Stopthemachineifanyoneentersthearea.
Nevercarrypassengers.
Donotmowinreverseunlessabsolutelynecessary.
Alwayslookdownandbehindbeforeandwhilebacking up.
Beawareofthemowerdischargedirectionanddonot
pointitatanyone.Avoiddischargingmaterialagainsta wallorobstruction.Materialmayricochetbacktoward theoperator.Stoptheblade(s)whencrossinggravel surfaces.

Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.Iflightning

SlopeOperation
Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtolossofcontroland tip-overaccidents,whichcanresultinsevereinjuryordeath. Operationonallslopesrequiresextracaution.Ifyoucannot backuptheslopeorifyoufeeluneasyonit,donotmowit.
Donotmowslopesgreaterthan15degrees.
Watchforditches,holes,rocks,dips,andrisesthatchange
theoperatingangle,asroughterraincouldoverturnthe machine.
Choosealowgroundspeedsoyouwillnothavetostop
whileoperatingonaslope.
Donotmowslopeswhengrassiswet.Slippery

Towing
Ahitchkitisavailableforthismachineandcanbeobtained bycontactinganAuthorizedToroDealer.Donottow withoutrstinstallingthismanufacturerapprovedhitch.The followingguidelinesapplywhentowingwiththeapproved hitchkitinstalled.
Towonlywithamachinethathasahitchdesignedfor
towing.Donotattachtowedequipmentexceptatthe hitchpoint.
Followthemanufacturer'srecommendationforweight
limitsfortowedequipmentandtowingonslopes.
Neverallowchildrenorothersinorontowedequipment.
Onslopes,theweightofthetowedequipmentmaycause
lossoftractionandlossofcontrol.
Travelslowlyandallowextradistancetostop.

Thebladecontrolswitch,representedbyapowertake-off (PTO)symbol,engagesanddisengagespowertothemower blades(Figure5).
MotionControlLeversandPark Position
Themotioncontrolleversarespeedsensitivecontrolsof independentwheelmotors.Movingaleverforwardor backwardturnsthewheelonthesamesideforwardorin reverse;wheelspeedisproportionaltotheamountthelever ismoved.Movethecontrolleversoutwardfromthecenter totheparkpositionandexitthemachine(Figure16).Always positionthemotioncontrolleversintotheparkposition whenyoustopthemachineorleaveitunattended.

3.Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceinthewritteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfortheperiodoftimebeforetherstscheduledreplacementdateforthatpart.Ifthepartfailsbeforetherst scheduledreplacement,thepartwillberepairedorreplacedbyTheT oroCompany.Anysuchpartrepairedorreplaced underwarrantywillbewarrantedfortheremainderoftheperiodpriortotherstscheduledreplacementpointforthepart.
4.Repairorreplacementofanywarrantedpartunderthewarrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedatan AuthorizedServiceDealeratnochargetotheowner.
5.Notwithstandingtheprovisionsherein,warrantyservicesorrepairswillbeprovidedatallServiceDealers authorizedtoservicethesubjectenginesorequipment.
6.Thesmalloff-roadengine/equipmentownerwillnotbechargedfordiagnosticlaborthatisdirectlyassociatedwithdiagnosis ofadefective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,providedthatsuchdiagnosticworkisperformedatanAuthorizedServiceDealer .
7.TheT oroCompanyisliablefordamagestootherengine/equipmentcomponentscausedbyafailureunderwarrantyofanyemissionspart.
8.Throughoutthesmalloff-roadengine/equipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,TheToroCompany willmaintainasupplyofwarrantedpartssufcienttomeettheexpecteddemandforsuchparts.
9.Manufacturerapprovedreplacementpartsmaybeusedintheperformanceofanywarrantymaintenanceorrepairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargetotheowner .SuchusewillnotreducethewarrantyobligationsofTheT oroCompany.
10.Add-onormodiedpartsthatarenotapprovedbyTheToroCompanymaynotbeused.Theuseofanon-approvedadd-onormodiedparts bythepurchaserwillbegroundsfordisallowingawarrantyclaim.TheToroCompanywillnotbeliabletowarrantfailuresofwarrantedparts causedbytheuseofannon-approvedadd-onormodiedparts.
