Operation

Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonor crossinggraveldrives,walks,orroads.Stayalertfor hiddenhazardsortrafc.
Afterstrikingaforeignobject,stoptheengine, removetheignitionkey,thoroughlyinspectthe machineforanydamage,andrepairthedamage beforerestartingandoperatingthemachine.
Ifthemachineshouldstarttovibrateabnormally, stoptheengineandcheckimmediatelyforthecause. Vibrationisgenerallyawarningoftrouble.
Stoptheenginewheneveryouleavetheoperating position,beforeuncloggingtheauger/impeller housingordischargechute,andwhenmakingany repairs,adjustmentsorinspections.
Whencleaning,repairingorinspectingthemachine, stoptheengineandmakecertaintheauger/impeller andallmovingpartshavestopped.Disconnectthe sparkplugwireandkeepthewireawayfromthe plugtopreventsomeonefromaccidentallystarting theengine.
ClearingaCloggedDischarge Chute
WARNING
Handcontactwiththerotatingrotorbladesinside thedischargechuteisthemostcommoncauseof injuryassociatedwithmachines.Neveruseyour handtocleanoutthedischargechute.
Toclearthechute:
Shuttheengineoff!
Wait10secondstobesuretherotorbladeshave stoppedrotating.
Alwaysusethecleanouttoolmountedonthe snowthrower,notyourhands.
MaintenanceandStorage
Checkallfastenersatfrequentintervalsforproper tightnesstobesurethemachineisinsafeworking condition.

Rotatingauger/impellercancutofforinjure ngersorhands.Staybehindthehandlesand awayfromthedischargeopeningwhileoperatingthe machine.Keepyourface,hands,feet,andany
otherpartofyourbodyorclothingawayfrom movingorrotatingparts.
Beforeadjusting,cleaning,inspecting, troubleshooting,orrepairingthemachine,
stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitfor allmovingpartstostop.Disconnectthewire fromthesparkplugandkeepitawayfromthe sparkplugtopreventsomeonefromaccidentally startingtheengine.
Beforeleavingtheoperatingposition,stopthe engine,removethekey,andwaitforallmovingparts tostop.
Tounclogthedischargechute,stayintheoperating positionandreleasethelefthand(traction)lever. Whilerunningtheauger/impeller,pushdownon thehandlestoraisethefrontofthemachineafew inches(centimeters)offthepavement.Thenliftthe handlesquicklytobumpthefrontofthemachineon thepavement.Repeatifnecessaryuntilastreamof snowcomesoutthedischargechute.

TheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB),theU.S.Environmental ProtectionAgency(EPA),andTheT oroCompany ,arepleasedtoexplain theexhaustandevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour 2012andlaterutility/lawn/gardenequipmentengine.2012andlatermodel yearutility/lawn/gardenequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,builtand equipped,atthetimeofsale,tomeettheU.S.EPAregulationsforsmall non-roadengines.Theequipmentenginemustbefreefromdefectsin materialsandworkmanship,whichcauseittofailtoconformwithU.S. EPAstandards,forthersttwoyearsofengineusefromthedateofsale totheultimatepurchaser.TheT oroCompanywarrantstheexhaustand evaporativeemissioncontrolsystemonyourutility/lawn/gardenequipment enginefortheperiodoftimelistedabove,providedtherehasbeenno abuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenanceofyourutility/lawn/garden equipmentengine.
Youremissioncontrolsystemmayincludepartssuchasthecarburetor , ignitionsystem,fueltank,fuelcap,fuellines,fuellinefasteners, connectors,andotheremission-relatedassemblies.
Whereawarrantableconditionexists,TheT oroCompanypromisesto repairyourengineatnocosttoyou,includingdiagnosis,parts,andlabor.
Manufacturer’sWarrantyCoverage
TheT oroCompanyanditsafliate,T oroWarrantyCompany,pursuant toanagreementbetweenthem,jointlywarrantthe2012andlater utility/lawn/gardenequipmentenginesfortwoyearsfromthedateof delivery.Ifanyemission-relatedpartonyourengineisdefectivein materialsorworkmanship,wewillrepairorreplacethepart,freeofcharge.
OwnerResponsibilities
Astheengineowner,youareresponsiblefortheperformanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedinyourOperator'sManual.Werecommend thatyouretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyourequipment,but wecannotdenywarrantysolelyforthelackofreceiptsorforyourfailureto ensuretheperformanceofallscheduledmaintenance.
Anyreplacementpartorservicethatisequivalentinperformanceand durabilitymaybeusedinnon-warrantymaintenanceorrepairs,andshall notreduceourwarrantyobligation.
Astheengineowner,youshouldbeawarethatwemaydenyyouwarranty coverageifyourengineoraparthasfailedduetoabuse,neglect, impropermaintenance,orunapprovedmodicationsorparts.

Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatetheengineorequipmentis deliveredtoaretailpurchaser.TheT oroCompanyanditsafliate, ToroWarrantyCompany,jointlywarranttotheinitialownerandeach subsequentpurchaserthattheengineisfreefromdefectsinmaterialsand workmanship,whichcausetheenginetofailtoconformwithapplicable regulations,foraperiodoftwoyears.
Failurescausedbyabuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenancearenot covered.Theuseofadd-onormodiedpartscanbegroundsfor disallowingawarrantyclaim.Wearenotliabletocoverfailuresof warrantedpartscausedbytheuseofadd-onormodiedparts.Weare liablefordamagestootherenginecomponentscausedbythefailureof awarrantedpartstillunderwarranty.Theownerisresponsibleforthe
performanceoftherequiredmaintenance,asdenedintheOperator's Manual.
Anywarrantedpartwhichisnotscheduledforreplacementasrequired maintenance,orwhichisscheduledonlyforregularinspectiontotheeffect of“repairorreplaceasnecessary”shallbewarrantedforthewarranty period.Anywarrantedpartwhichisscheduledforreplacementasrequired maintenanceshallbewarrantedfortheperiodoftimeuptotherst scheduledreplacementpointforthatpart.Coverageunderthiswarranty extendsonlytothepartslistedbelow(theemissionssystemparts)tothe extentthatthesepartswerepresentontheenginewhenpurchased.
