II.Preparation
1.Keepbystandersandchildrenawayfromthe operatingarea.
2.UseonlythebatterypackspeciedbyToro. Usingotheraccessoriesandattachmentsmay increasetheriskofinjuryandre.
3.Pluggingthebatterychargerintoanoutletthatis not120Vcancauseareorelectricshock.Do notplugthebatterychargerintoanoutletother than120V .Foradifferentstyleofconnection, useanattachmentplugadapteroftheproper congurationforthepoweroutletifneeded.
4.Donotuseadamagedormodiedbattery packorbatterycharger,whichmayexhibit unpredictablebehaviorthatresultsinre, explosion,orriskofinjury .
5.Ifthesupplycordtothebatterychargeris damaged,contactanAuthorizedServiceDealer toreplaceit.
6.Donotusenon-rechargeablebatteries.

7.Chargethebatterypackwithonlythebattery chargerspeciedbyT oro.Achargersuitablefor 1typeofbatterypackmaycreateariskofre whenusedwithanotherbatterypack.
8.Chargethebatterypackinawell-ventilatedarea only.
10.Donotforcethemachine—Allowthemachineto dothejobbetterandsaferattherateforwhichit wasdesigned.
11.Donotoverreach—Keepproperfootingand balanceatalltimes,especiallyonslopes.Walk, neverrunwiththemachine.

12.Dressproperly—Wearappropriateclothing, includingeyeprotection;longpants;substantial, slip-resistantfootwear;rubbergloves;and hearingprotection.Tiebacklonghairanddo notwearlooseclothingorloosejewelrythatcan getcaughtinmovingparts.Wearadustmaskin dustyoperatingconditions.
III.Operation
1.Avoiddangerousenvironments—Donotusethe machineinrainorindamporwetlocations.
2.Usethepropermachineforyour application—Usingthemachineforpurposes otheranitsintendedusecouldprovedangerous toyouandbystanders.
3.Preventunintentionalstarting—Ensurethatthe switchisintheOFFpositionbeforeconnecting tothebatterypackandhandlingthemachine. Donotcarrythemachinewithyourngeronthe switchorenergizethemachinewiththeswitch intheONposition.
4.Donotgrasptheexposedcuttingbladesor cuttingedgeswhenpickinguporholdingthe machine.
5.Operatethemachineonlyindaylightorgood articiallight.
6.Removethebatterypackfromthemachine beforeadjustingitorchangingaccessories.
7.Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfromthecutting areaandallmovingparts.
8.Stopthemachine,removethebatterypackfrom themachine,andwaitforallmovementtostop beforeadjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoring themachine.
9.Removethebatterypackfromthemachine wheneveryouleaveitunattended.
12.Useextremecautionwhenreversingorpulling themachinetowardsyou.
13.Becarefulwhenoperatingthemachineinhard ground.Thebladescancatchinthegroundand propelthemachineforward.
14.Ifanobjectbecomeslodgedintheblades,shut offthemachineandremovethebatterybefore removingtheobject.
15.Startthemotorcarefullyaccordingto manufacturerinstructionsandwithfeetwell awayfromthemachine.
16.Nevertransportamachinewhilethemotoris running.
17.Stayalert—Watchwhatyouaredoinganduse commonsensewhenoperatingthemachine. Donotusethemachinewhileill,tired,orunder theinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
18.Ensurethattheventilationopeningsarekept clearofdebris.
19.Underabusiveconditions,thebatterypackmay ejectliquid;avoidcontact.Ifyouaccidently comeintocontactwiththeliquid,ushwith water.Iftheliquidcontactsyoureyes,seek medicalhelp.Liquidejectedfromthebattery packmaycauseirritationorburns.
20.CAUTION—Amistreatedbatterypackmay presentariskofreorchemicalburn.Donot disassemblethebatterypack.Donotheatthe batterypackabove68°C(154°F)orincinerate it.ReplacethebatterypackwithagenuineToro batterypackonly;usinganothertypeofbattery packmaycauseareorexplosion.Keep batterypacksoutofthereachofchildrenand intheoriginalpackaginguntilyouarereadyto usethem.
IV.MaintenanceandStorage
1.Maintainthemachinewithcare—Keepitclean andingoodrepairforbestperformanceandto reducetheriskofinjury.Followtheinstructions forlubricatingandchangingaccessories.Keep handlesdry ,clean,andfreefromoilandgrease.
2.Keepallnuts,boltsandscrewstighttoensure themachineisinsafeworkingcondition.
3.Whenthebatterypackisnotinuse,keepit awayfrommetalobjectssuchaspaperclips, coins,keys,nails,andscrewsthatcanmakea
