Important:Forbestresults,yourbatterytool
shouldbechargedinalocationwherethe temperatureismorethan5°C(41°F)butless than40°C(104°F).Toreducetheriskofserious personalinjury ,donotstoreoutsideorinvehicles. Chargingtimewillbeincreasedifnotcharged withinthisrange.
1.Ifthepowercordisnotpluggedintothecharger, plugitintothecharger(Figure1),thenplugthe powercordintoapowersocket.
2.Turnthebatteryupsidedownandlineupthe batteryterminalwiththeslotinthecharger (Figure1andFigure2).
3.Slidethebatteryintothechargeruntilitclicks intoplace.
4.Toremovethebattery,pressdownonthe releasebuttonandslidethebatterybackwards outofthecharger.
5.RefertoFigure3tointerprettheLEDindicators onthebatterycharger.

1.Alignthetongueofthebatterypackwiththe cavityinthehandlehousing(Figure4).

Important:Thebatterypackisnotfullycharged
whenitispurchased.Beforeusingthetrimmerfor thersttime,placethebatterypackinthecharger andchargeituntiltheLEDdisplayindicates thebatteryischarged.Makesuretoreadall safetyprecautions.Withregularuse,itwillneed shorterchargingtime.Ifstoringfor1monthor longer,removethebatteryandusestoragemode (ChargingtheBatteryPack(page4)).Whenready touseagain,chargethebatterypackuntiltheLED displayindicatesthebatteryischarged.
WARNING
Uponremoval,coverthebatterypack's terminalswithheavy-dutyadhesivetape.Do notattempttodestroyordisassemblethe batterypackorremoveanyofitscomponents. Lithium-ionbatteriesmustberecycledor disposedofproperlyatthenearestbattery recyclingfacility.

Troubleshooting
Usingthebatterywhenitishotcanreducethe operatingtime.Thebatterywillautomaticallystop workingwhenitisoverheatedtopreventdamagetoit. Removethebatteryfromthechargerandallowitto coolbeforeplacingitbackintothetrimmer.
Usingthebatterywhenthereismoistureontheleads cancausethetrimmertomalfunction.Allowthe batterytodryorwipeitdrybeforeplacingitbackinto thetrimmer.

HowdotheCaliforniawarningscomparetofederallimits?

Prop65standardsareoftenmorestringentthanfederalandinternationalstandards.TherearevarioussubstancesthatrequireaProp65warning atlevelsthatarefarlowerthanfederalactionlimits.Forexample,theProp65standardforwarningsforleadis0.5μg/day,whichiswellbelow thefederalandinternationalstandards.

Whydon’tallsimilarproductscarrythewarning?

ProductssoldinCaliforniarequireProp65labellingwhilesimilarproductssoldelsewheredonot.
AcompanyinvolvedinaProp65lawsuitreachingasettlementmayberequiredtouseProp65warningsforitsproducts,butothercompanies
makingsimilarproductsmayhavenosuchrequirement.
TheenforcementofProp65isinconsistent.
CompaniesmayelectnottoprovidewarningsbecausetheyconcludethattheyarenotrequiredtodosounderProp65;alackofwarningsfora
productdoesnotmeanthattheproductisfreeoflistedchemicalsatsimilarlevels.

WhydoesT oroincludethiswarning?

Torohaschosentoprovideconsumerswithasmuchinformationaspossiblesothattheycanmakeinformeddecisionsabouttheproductstheybuyand use.T oroprovideswarningsincertaincasesbasedonitsknowledgeofthepresenceofoneormorelistedchemicalswithoutevaluatingthelevelof exposure,asnotallthelistedchemicalsprovideexposurelimitrequirements.WhiletheexposurefromT oroproductsmaybenegligibleorwellwithinthe “nosignicantrisk”range,outofanabundanceofcaution,T orohaselectedtoprovidetheProp65warnings.Moreover,ifT orodoesnotprovidethese warnings,itcouldbesuedbytheStateofCaliforniaorbyprivatepartiesseekingtoenforceProp65andsubjecttosubstantialpenalties.
