Checklist at the Time of Sale
1. Show the customer where the following features are located and how they function:
Fuel tank cap
Oil Fill Tube/ Oil dipstick
Oil Filter
Spark Plug
Air Filter
Ignition Switch
Throttle / Choke Lever
Power Take Off Switch (PTO)
Motion Control Levers/Parking Brake Position
Mower Height–of–Cut Lever
Adjustable Seat & Footrest
Hydro Bypass Levers
Mower Washout Fitting
2. Refer to the operator’s manual to point out safety procedures, operation, and maintenance procedures.
3. Review the warranty statement as shown in the Operator’s Manual.
4. Describe the post sale service procedures for your store.
5. Assist the customer in filling out and mailing the registration card.
6. Remove all point of purchase materials.
7. Ensure that the customer receives the Operator’s Manual, ignition key, and safety video.
8. Assist the customer with loading the mower.

Customer Checklist
Use these instructions and procedures below before the first use and before each subsequent use.
Before Operating the Machine for the First Time
Important Refer to the Operator’s Manual for complete details on safety, operation, maintenance, and the warranty.
1. Watch the safety video that came with the mower.
2. Clear the mowing area of foreign objects that could be picked up and thrown by the blade.
3. Verify that the battery cables are connected correctly.
4. Check the engine oil level and add oil if necessary.
5. Add clean fresh fuel to the fuel tank. Never use fuel that is over 30 days old.
6. Adjust the seat and footrest to a comfortable operating position.
7. Make sure the grass deflector is in the down position.
8. When cutting grass for the first time, cut grass slightly longer than normal to ensure the cutting height of the mower does
not scalp any uneven ground.

1. Before each use, check the engine oil level and add oil if necessary.
2. Check the safety interlock system. Refer to the Operator’s Manual.
3. Clear the mowing area of foreign objects that could be picked up and thrown by the blade.
4. Make sure the grass deflector is in the down position.
5. For best mowing and engine cooling, operate the engine with the throttle lever at the Fast position.
6. If an unsatisfactory quality of cut is observed, try slowing your ground speed.
7. Do not mow slopes greater than 15 degrees.
8. After mowing, clean the machine and store in a dry area.
9. If your Toro TimeCutter Z requires service, contact your local Toro Service Dealer, do not return the mower to The Home
Depot.
