•Neverattempttomakeanyadjustmentswhilethemotor

manufacturer).
•Alwayswearsafetyglassesoreyeshieldsduringoperationor
whileperforminganadjustmentorrepairtoprotecteyesfrom
foreignobjectsthatmaybethrownfromtheappliance.
•Lookbehindandusecarewhenbackingupwiththe
appliance.
•Disengagepowertotherotorbladeswhentheapplianceis
transportedornotinuse.
•Neveroperatetheappliancewithoutgoodvisibilityorlight.

ClearingaCloggedDischarge
Chute
Handcontactwiththerotatingrotorbladesinsidethedischarge
chuteisthemostcommoncauseofinjuryassociatedwith
snowthrowers.Neveruseyourhandtocleanoutthedischarge
chute.
Toclearthechute:
•Shutthemotoroff!
•Wait10secondstobesuretherotorbladeshavestopped
rotating.
•Alwaysuseaclean-outtool,notyourhands.
MaintenanceandStorage
•Checkallfastenersatfrequentintervalsforpropertightness
tobesuretheequipmentisinsafeworkingcondition.
•AlwaysrefertothisOperator’sManualforimportantdetailsif
theapplianceistobestoredforanextendedperiod.
•Maintainorreplacesafetyandinstructionlabels,as
necessary.
•Runtheapplianceafewminutesafterthrowingsnowto
preventfreeze-upoftherotorblades.
Operation
•Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.Keep
clearofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
•Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonorcrossing
graveldrives,walks,orroads.Stayalertforhiddenhazards
ortrafc.
•Afterstrikingaforeignobject,stopthemotor,removethe
ignitionkey ,thoroughlyinspecttheapplianceforanydamage,
andrepairthedamagebeforerestartingandoperatingthe
appliance.
•Iftheunitshouldstarttovibrateabnormally ,stopthemotor
andcheckimmediatelyforthecause.Vibrationisgenerallya
warningoftrouble.
•Stopthemotorwheneveryouleavetheoperatingposition,
beforeuncloggingtherotorbladehousingordischargechute,
andwhenmakinganyrepairs,adjustmentsorinspections.
•Whencleaning,repairing,orinspectingtheappliance,stop
themotorandensurethattherotorbladesandallmoving
partshavestopped.
•Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonslopes.
•Neveroperatetheappliancewithoutproperguardsandother
safetyprotectivedevicesinplaceandworking.
•Neverdirectthedischargetowardpeopleorareaswhere
propertydamagecanoccur.Keepchildrenandothersaway .

StartingandStopping
TostartthePowerShovel,pushthebuttononthesideofthe
handlegripandsqueezethetrigger.Tostoptheproduct,release
thetrigger.

•StartthePowerShovelandtiltitforwarduntilthescraper
bladecontactstheground.PushthePowerShovelforward
atacomfortablerateofspeed,yetslowenoughtoclearthe
pathcompletely .Thewidthanddepthofthesnowdetermines
yourforwardspeed.
•DirectthesnowtotherightortotheleftbyholdingthePower
Shovelataslightangle.
•Forthemostefcientsnowremoval,throwthesnow
downwind,andslightlyoverlapeachswath.
•Ifyouneedtoclearsnowfromcrushedrockorgravel,push
downonthehandletoraisethescraperclearofloosematerial
thattherotorbladescouldthrow.
•ThePowerShovelcanremovesnowupto6in.(15cm)deep
inonepass.Whenclearingdeeperdrifts,holdthePower
Shovelbytheupperandlowerhandlesanduseaswingingor
sweepingmotion.Removeamaximumof6inches(15cm)
witheachpassandrepeatasmanytimesasrequired.
•Keepthecordclearofobstructions,sharpobjects,androtor.
Donotpullsharplyonthecordorabuseitinanymanner.
Frequentlyinspectthecordfordamage.Ifitisdamaged,
replacethecord.
•DisconnecttheextensioncordafterusingthePowerShovel.
HangtheextensioncordwiththePowerShovelsoitwillnot
bemisplacedordamaged.
WARNING
Iftheextensioncordispluggedintoproduct,someone
couldaccidentallyoperateitwhileyouareperforming
maintenanceonit,causingseriouspersonalinjury.
Disconnecttheextensioncordbeforeyouperformany
maintenance.

1.Usea9/16-inchwrenchtoremovetheboltonthesideof
thehousing.
