Disconnectsnowthrower—Disconnectthesnowthrowerfromthe
powersupplywhennotinuse,beforeservicing,whenchanging
accessories,andthelike.
Storeidlesnowthrowersindoors—Whennotinuse,snowthrowers
shouldbestoredindoorsindry,lockedplace—outofreachofchildren.
Maintainsnowthrowerswithcare—Followinstructionsforlubricating
andchangingaccessories.

Preparation
•Thoroughlyinspecttheareawheretheequipmentistobeused
andremovealldoormats,sleds,boards,wires,andotherforeign
objects.
•Donotoperatetheequipmentwithoutwearingadequatewinter
garments.Avoidloosettingclothingthatcangetcaughtinmoving
parts.Wearfootwearthatwillimprovefootingonslipperysurfaces.
•Donotattempttoclearsnowfromagravelorcrushedrocksurface.
Thisproductisintendedforuseonlyonpavedsurfaces.
•Neverattempttomakeanyadjustmentswhilethemotorisrunning
(exceptwhenspecicallyrecommendedbymanufacturer).
•Alwayswearsafetyglassesoreyeshieldsduringoperationor
whileperforminganadjustmentorrepairtoprotecteyesfrom
foreignobjectsthatmaybethrownfromthemachine.
Operation
•Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.Keepclear
ofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
•Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonorcrossinggravel
drives,walks,orroads.Stayalertforhiddenhazardsortrafc.
•Afterstrikingaforeignobject,stopthemotor,removetheignition
key,thoroughlyinspectthesnowthrowerforanydamage,and
repairthedamagebeforerestartingandoperatingthesnow
thrower.
•Iftheunitshouldstarttovibrateabnormally,stopthemotorand
checkimmediatelyforthecause.Vibrationisgenerallyawarning
oftrouble.
•Stopthemotorwheneveryouleavetheoperatingposition,before
uncloggingtherotorbladehousingordischargechute,andwhen
makinganyrepairs,adjustmentsorinspections.
•Whencleaning,repairing,orinspectingthesnowthrower,stop
themotorandmakecertainthattherotorbladesandallmoving
partshavestopped.
•Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonslopes.
•Neveroperatethesnowthrowerwithoutproperguardsandother
safetyprotectivedevicesinplaceandworking.
•Neverdirectthedischargetowardpeopleorareaswhereproperty
damagecanoccur.Keepchildrenandothersaway.
•Donotoverloadthemachinecapacitybyattemptingtoclearsnow
attoofastarate.
•Lookbehindandusecarewhenbackingupwiththesnowthrower.
•Disengagepowertotherotorbladeswhensnowthroweris
transportedornotinuse.

•Maintainorreplacesafetyandinstructionlabels,asnecessary.
•Runthemachineafewminutesafterthrowingsnowtoprevent
freeze-upoftherotorblades.

Operation
Important:Thissnowthrowerisintendedforoutdoor,residential
useonly.donotuseitindoorsorforcommercialorindustrial
purposes.
ConnectingtoaPowerSource
Toreducetheriskofelectricshock,thisappliancehasapolarized
plug(i.e.,onebladeiswiderthantheother).Useonlyapolarized
plug,UL-listed(CSAcertiedinCanada)extensioncordrecommended
foroutdooruse.Apolarizedplugwilltinapolarizedcordonlyone
way.Iftheplugdoesnottfullyinthecord,reversethecord.Ifit
stilldoesnott,purchaseapolarizedextensioncord.Ifyouhavea
polarizedextensioncordandtheextensioncordplugdoesnottfully
intothewallreceptacle,reversetheplug.Ifitstilldoesnott,contact
aqualiedelectriciantoinstalltheproperoutlet.Donotchangethe
applianceorextensioncordpluginanyway.
Useonlyanextensioncordrecommendedforoutdooruse.
3.Connecttheextensioncordtotheapplianceelectricalcord.
4.Plugtheextensioncordintoawalloutlet.

Contactwithwaterwhileoperatingtheproductcouldcause

•Don’thandletheplugortheappliancewithwethands
orwhilestandinginwater.
•Useonlyanextensioncordrecommendedforoutdoor
cold-weatheruse.

gripandsqueezethetrigger.Tostoptheproduct,releasethetrigger.
OperatingTips
•StartthePowerShovelandtiltitforwarduntilthescraperblade
contactstheground.PushthePowerShovelforwardata
comfortablerateofspeed,yetslowenoughtoclearthepath
completely.Thewidthanddepthofthesnowdeterminesyour
forwardspeed.
•DirectthesnowtotherightortotheleftbyholdingthePower
Shovelataslightangle.
•Forthemostefcientsnowremoval,throwthesnowdownwind,
andslightlyoverlapeachswath.
•Ifyouneedtoclearsnowfromcrushedrockorgravel,pushdown
onthehandletoraisethescraperclearofloosematerialthatthe
rotorbladescouldthrow.
•ThePowerShovelcanremovesnowupto6in.(15cm)deepin
onepass.Whenclearingdeeperdrifts,holdthePowerShovel
bytheupperandlowerhandlesanduseaswingingorsweeping
motion.Removeamaximumof6inches(15cm)witheachpass
andrepeatasmanytimesasrequired.
•Keepthecordclearofobstructions,sharpobjects,androtor.Do
notpullsharplyonthecordorabuseitinanymanner.Frequently
inspectthecordfordamage.Ifitisdamaged,replacethecord.
•DisconnecttheextensioncordafterusingthePowerShovel.
HangtheextensioncordwiththePowerShovelsoitwillnotbe
misplacedordamaged.
Note:Thishelpstopreventyoufromaccidentlydisconnectingthe
extensioncordfromtheapplianceduringoperation.
