theequipment.Localregulationsmayrestricttheageof

Preparation
•Evaluatetheterraintodeterminewhataccessoriesand
attachmentsareneededtoproperlyandsafelyperform
thejob.Onlyuseaccessoriesandattachmentsapproved
bythemanufacturer.
•Wearappropriateclothingincluding,substantial,
slip-resistantshoes,safetyglasses,andhearingprotection.
Longhair,looseclothing,orjewelrymaygettangledin
movingparts.
•Inspecttheareawheretheequipmentistobeusedand
removeallobjectssuchasrocks,toys,andwirewhichcan
becontactedbythemachine.
•Useextracarewhenhandlinggasolineandotherfuels.
Theyareammableandvaporsareexplosive.
–Useonlyanapprovedcontainer.
–Neverremovethegascaporaddfuelwiththeengine
running.
–Allowtheenginetocoolbeforerefueling.

SlopeOperation
•Donotoperateneardrop-offs,ditches,steepbanks,or
water.Wheelsdroppingoveredgescancauserollovers,
whichmayresultinseriousinjuryordeath.
•Donotoperateonslopeswhengrassiswet.Slippery
conditionsreducetractionandcouldcauseslidingand
lossofcontrol.
•Donotmakesuddenturnsorrapidspeedchanges.
•Reducespeedanduseextremecautiononslopes.
•Removeormarkobstaclessuchasrocks,treelimbs,and
otherobjectsfromtheoperatingarea.Tallgrasscanhide
obstacles.

•Watchforditches,holes,rocks,dips,andrisesthatchange
theoperatingangle,asroughterraincouldoverturnthe
machine.
•Alwaysavoidsuddenstartingorstoppingonaslope.If
thetireslosetraction,disengagethebladesandproceed
slowlyofftheslope.
MaintenanceandStorage
•Stopthemachine,stoptheengine,waitforallmoving
partstostop,raisetheblades,anddisconnectthe
spark-plugwirebeforeadjusting,cleaning,orrepairing.
•Cleangrassanddebrisfromtheblades,drives,mufer,
andenginetohelppreventres.Cleanupoilorfuel
spillage.
•Lettheenginecoolbeforestoringanddonotstorenear
ame.

Pushtheleverforwardtostarttheseedow,andpullit
rearwardtostoptheseedow .
ParkingBrake
Settheparkingbrakewheneveryouleavethemachine
unattendedandwhenperformingmaintenance.Toengage
theparkingbrake,pullthebrakerodoutanddown,locking
itintheoutposition.Todisengagethebrake,pullthebrake
upuntilitsnapsbackintothemachine.
