Preparation

usedandremovealldoormats,sleds,boards,wires,and otherforeignobjects.
Donotoperatetheappliancewithoutwearingadequatewinter
garments.Avoidloosettingclothingthatcangetcaughtin movingparts.Wearfootwearthatwillimprovefootingon slipperysurfaces.
Donotattempttoclearsnowfromagravelorcrushedrock
surface.Thisapplianceisintendedforuseonlyonpaved surfaces.
Neverattempttomakeanyadjustmentswhilethemotor
isrunning(exceptwhenspecicallyrecommendedby manufacturer).
Alwayswearsafetyglassesoreyeshieldsduringoperationor
whileperforminganadjustmentorrepairtoprotecteyesfrom foreignobjectsthatmaybethrownfromtheappliance.

Operation

Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.Keep
clearofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonorcrossing
graveldrives,walks,orroads.Stayalertforhiddenhazards ortrafc.
Afterstrikingaforeignobject,stopthemotor ,unplugthe
extensioncord,removethekey,andthoroughlyinspect theapplianceforanydamage.Repairanydamagebefore startingandoperatingtheappliance.
Iftheapplianceshouldstarttovibrateabnormally ,stopthe
motorandcheckimmediatelyforthecause.Vibrationis generallyawarningoftrouble.
Stopthemotor ,removethekey ,andunplugtheappliance
wheneveryouleavetheoperatingposition,beforeunclogging therotorbladehousingordischargechute,andwhenmaking anyrepairs,adjustments,inspections,andwhiletransporting themachine.
Donotdirectthesnowdischargeatanybystanders.
Donotoperatewithanyonestandinginfrontofthemachine.
Whencleaning,repairing,orinspectingtheappliance,stop

ClearingaCloggedDischarge Chute

Handcontactwiththerotatingrotorbladesinsidethedischarge chuteisthemostcommoncauseofinjuryassociatedwith snowthrowers.Neveruseyourhandtocleanoutthedischarge chute.
Toclearthechute:
Shutthemotoroff,removethekey ,andunplugthe
extensioncordfromthemachine!
Wait10secondstobesuretherotorbladeshavestopped
rotating.
Alwaysuseaclean-outtool,notyourhands.

MaintenanceandStorage

Beforeeachusecheckallfastenersforpropertightnessto
ensurethattheapplianceisinsafeworkingcondition.
AlwaysrefertotheOperator’sManualforimportantdetailsif
theapplianceistobestoredforanextendedperiod.
Maintainorreplacesafetyandinstructionlabelsasneeded.
