Discharge Tunnel Replacement Kit

Installation Instructions

1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 locknuts that hold the old
discharge tunnel onto the mower housing.
Note: If possible, save the bolts and locknuts for
installing the new discharge tunnel.
2. Remove the old discharge tunnel from the mower
housing and discard the tunnel (Fig. 1).

3. Position the new discharge tunnel onto the mower
housing (Fig. 2).

Note: Insert the front of the tunnel into the opening.
4. Insert the 2 bolts that you previously removed through
the rear holes of the new discharge tunnel and the
mower housing (Fig. 3).

5. Install the locknuts that you previously removed from
under the housing and tighten them to 80 inch-lb (until
they are snug).
9. Hook one end of the spring (provided in the kit) through
the small hole in the plate.
6. Drill 2 holes (7/32 inch dia.) in the mower housing
using the left and right side holes in the discharge
tunnel as guides.
7. Insert a self-tapping bolt (provided in the kit) into the
right side hole in the discharge tunnel and tighten it to
80 inch-lb (until it is snug) as shown in Figure 4.

10. Hook the other end of the spring through the hole in the
door lever arm (Fig. 6).
11. Insert the door into the opening of the discharge tunnel.

8. Install the plate (provided in the kit) to the mower
housing using a bolt in the kit through the left side hole
in the discharge tunnel. Tighten the bolt to 80 inch-lb
(until it is snug) as shown in Figure 5.

(Fig. 7).
Note: Position the uplifted bend in the plate rearward.

12. Slip the wire loop on the discharge tunnel over the outer
end of the door hinge (Figs. 8 and 9).

13. Install the bracket on the discharge tunnel with 2 bolts
provided in the kit (Fig. 10).

14. The new discharge tunnel should appear on the mower
housing as shown in Figure 11.
