Step
1
Installing the Rollover
Protection System (ROPS)
Note: When installing the ROPS with a previously
installed bagger, contact an Authorized Service
Dealer for the correct procedure.

8Bolt, 3/8 x 1 inch

8Flange nut, 3/8 inch
2Bolt, 1/2 x 3-1/4 inches
2Flange nut, 1/2 inch
Procedure
1. Loosely install the right and left roll bar sections
to the frame, with 8 bolts (3/8 x 1 inch), 8 curved
washers, and 8 flange nuts (3/8 inch).
Note: You must install the spring disk cone toward
the bolt head.
2. Install the lanyard
clips onto the 2 bolts
(1/2 x 3-1/4 inches).
Note: Ensure that the
bent tab on each
lanyard clip points
toward the bolt head.
3. Lightly oil the ends
of the center roll bar
section.
4. Loosely install the
center roll bar section,
using 2 bolts
(1/2 x 3-1/4 inches) and
2 flange nuts (1/2 inch).
Note: Ensure that the
bolts are installed on the
outside of the roll bar.
Note: Ensure that the
bent tab on the lanyard
clip is installed as shown
(pointing forward).
5. Raise the roll bar
into the upright position
and secure it with the
pins and hairpin cotter
pins fastened to the
lanyards.

6. Tighten the center
roll bar bolts
(1/2 x 3-1/4 inches) so
that it rotates freely with
some resistance.
Note: No more than one
thread should be
exposed outside the nut.
7. Torque all lower
fasteners, attached to
the machine frame, to
30 ft-lb.
8. Tighten the front
handles against the
center roll bar ends.

Removing the Existing Seat
Frame

Procedure
1. Tip the seat forward.
2. Remove the 2 connectors (A) from the seat
switch.
3. Remove the nuts and bolts that hold the seat to
the seat hinges.
Note: Save the hardware.

5. Remove the
2 bolts (A) and
2 locknuts (B) at
the front of the
seat frame where it
is hinged.
Note: Save the
hardware.
6. Remove the
seat assembly
from the machine.
7. Remove the seat
frame from the existing
seat by removing the
4 locknuts.
Note: Discard the
seat frame, but save
the hardware.

4. Tip the seat back to the upright position.

2. Install the seat
frame onto the
hinges with the
2 bolts (A) and
2 locknuts (B) that
you previously
removed.

6. Tip the seat back to the upright position.

Replacing the Seat Belt

Procedure
1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 washers that hold both
parts of the existing seat belt to the metal seat frame.

2. Install the
receiver part of the
seat belt to the
outside of the
metal seat frame
with 1 bolt (7/16 x
1 inch) and
1 washer
(7/16 inch).
3. Install the long seat
belt strap to the outside
of the metal seat frame
with 1 bolt (7/16 x
1 inch) and 1 washer
(7/16 inch).
