Procedure

Inspectthesparkarresterevery50hoursfordamage,
suchasholesinthescreen,andforbuild-uponthe
screen.Ifitisdamaged,replaceitwithanewspark
arrester.Ifitisdirty,removeitandcleanthescreen
withawirebrushand/orsoakitinsolvent.Installitas
indicatedinthefollowingprocedures.

RemovingtheMufer

Procedure

1.StopthePTO,settheparkingbrake,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.

2.Allowthetractionunittocoolcompletely.

3.Removethemuferheatshield

4.Removethefournutsandlockwasherssecuringthe
mufertothestudsontheengine.

5.Removetheoldmuferandgasketsfromtheengine,
ensuringthatyoucleanallpiecesofthegasketsoff
oftheengineexhaustmanifold.

Procedure

1.Removetheboltbelowthecablebracketwhichis
installedintotheengine(Figure2).

2.Installthecableheatshieldbelowthecablebracket
usingtheboltremovedinstep1(Figure2).The
cableheatshieldneedstobeinstalledsoitisbetween
themuferandthecablebracket.

3.Installabolt(1/4x3/4inch)inthetopofthecable
bracketandintothecableheatshield(Figure2).
