Shorter PTO Driveshaft in Special Situations

Situation:

Complaint: The PTO Driveshaft supplied with the Aerator does not fit.
When mounting a ProCore 864 or 1298 aerator on your tractor, the position of the PTO output shaft

on the tractor needs to be determined relative to the position of the lower trailing arms. This distance
is designated the “M” dimension. The standard PTO drive shaft included with these aerators will fit

tractor “M” dimensions down to 19.25” (48.89 cm). If the “M” dimension is smaller, we offer an

optional shorter PTO Drive Shaft assembly. (115-2839) This optional driveshaft will fit a tractor PTO
output shaft/hitch configuration “M” dimension down to 15.50”(39.37 cm)

Instructions:

Using the diagram below, determine the “M” dimension of your tractor. It may be helpful to place a
straight edge across the ends of the trailing arms to determine the distance between them and the
end of the PTO out shaft end.

Consult your tractor Operator’s Manual for potential length adjustment capability in the tractor trailing
arm design.
