Improperuseormaintenancebytheoperatororownercan resultininjury.Toreducethepotentialforinjury,comply withthesesafetyinstructionsandalwayspayattentionto thesafetyalertsymbol(Figure2),whichmeansCAUTION, WARNING,orDANGER-“personalsafetyinstruction." Failuretocomplywiththeinstructionmayresultinpersonal injuryordeath.

SafeOperatingPractices

ThefollowinginstructionsareadaptedfromtheCEN standardEN836:1997,ISOstandard5395:1990,andANSI B71.4-2012.
Training
ReadtheOperator'sManualandothertrainingmaterial
carefully.Befamiliarwiththecontrols,safetysigns,and theproperuseoftheequipment.
Neverallowchildrenorpeopleunfamiliarwiththese
instructionstouseorservicethemower.Local regulationsmayrestricttheageoftheoperator.
Nevermowwhilepeople,especiallychildren,oranimals
arenearby.
Keepinmindthattheoperatororuserisresponsiblefor
accidentsorhazardsoccurringtootherpeopleortheir property.
Theowner/usercanpreventandisresponsiblefor
accidentsorinjuriesoccurringtohimselforherself,other people,orproperty.
Preparation
Whilemowing,alwayswearsubstantialfootwear,long
trousers,hardhat,safetyglasses,andearprotection.Long hair,looseclothing,orjewelrymaygettangledinmoving parts.Donotoperatetheequipmentwhenbarefootor wearingopensandals.
Thoroughlyinspecttheareawheretheequipmentisto
beusedandremoveallobjectswhichmaybethrownby themachine.
Checkthatoperatorpresencecontrols,safetyswitches,
andshieldsareattachedandfunctioningproperly .Donot operateunlesstheyarefunctioningproperly.
Operation
Mowonlyindaylightoringoodarticiallight.
Beforeattemptingtoturnonthemachine,disengageall
bladeattachmentclutches,shiftintoneutral,andengage theparkingbrake.
Stayalertforholesintheterrainandotherhiddenhazards.
Watchoutfortrafcwhencrossingornearroadways.
Stopthebladesrotatingbeforecrossingsurfacesother
thangrass.
Whenusinganyattachments,neverdirectdischargeof
materialtowardbystandersnorallowanyonenearthe machinewhileinoperation.
Neveroperatethemachinewithdamagedguards,shields,
orwithoutsafetyprotectivedevicesinplace.Besureall interlocksareattached,adjustedproperly,andfunctioning properly.
Beforeleavingtheoperator'sposition:
Stoponlevelground.
Disengagethetraction/mowlever.
Settheparkingbrake.
Turnoffthemachine.
Disengagedrivetoattachmentswhentransportingornot
inuse.
Turnoffthemachineanddisengagethetraction/mow
leverinthefollowingsituations:
Beforeconnectingthebatterytothecharger
Beforeremovingthegrassbasket
Beforemakingheightadjustmentunlessadjustment
canbemadefromtheoperator'sposition
Beforeclearingblockages
Beforechecking,cleaningorworkingonthemower
Afterstrikingaforeignobjectorifanabnormal
vibrationoccurs.Inspectthemowerfordamage andmakerepairsbeforerestartingandoperatingthe equipment.
Keephandsandfeetawayfromthecuttingunit.
Slowdownandusecautionwhenmakingturnsand
crossingroadsandsidewalks.Stopreelsifnotmowing.
Donotoperatethemowerundertheinuenceofalcohol
ordrugs.
Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.Iflightning
isseenorthunderisheardinthearea,donotoperate themachine;seekshelter.
Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachineintoa
trailerortruck.
Usecarewhenapproachingblindcorners,shrubs,trees,
orotherobjectsthatmayobscurevision.
MaintenanceandStorage
Keepallnuts,bolts,andscrewstighttobesurethe
equipmentisinsafeworkingcondition.
Toreducetherehazard,keepthebatterypackand
connectorsfreeofdebris.
Checkthegrassbasketfrequentlyforwearor
deterioration.

Keepallpartsingoodworkingconditionandallhardware
tightened.Replaceallwornordamagedpartsanddecals.
Becarefulduringadjustmentofthemachinetoprevent
entrapmentofthengersbetweenmovingbladesand xedpartsofthemachine.
Disengagedrives,disengagethecuttingunit,setthe
parkingbrake,turnoffthemachine,anddisconnectthe battery.Waitforallmovementtostopbeforeadjusting, cleaning,orrepairing.
Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunitanddrives
tohelppreventres.
Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswithstored
energy.
Disconnectthebatterybeforemakinganyrepairs.
Usecarewhencheckingthereel.Wearglovesanduse
cautionwhenservicingthem.
Keephandsandfeetawayfrommovingparts.Ifpossible,
donotmakeadjustmentswiththemotorrunningorthe batteryconnectedtothemachine..
Hauling
Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachineintoa
trailerortruck.
Usefullwidthrampsforloadingmachineintotraileror
truck.
Tiethemachinedownsecurelyusingstraps,chains,cable,
orropes.Bothfrontandrearstrapsshouldbedirected downandoutwardfromthemachine.
Donotdriveclosetosandtraps,ditches,creeks,or
otherhazards.
Reducespeedwhenmakingsharpturns.Avoid
suddenstopsandstarts.
Whennearorcrossingroads,alwaysyieldthe
right-of-way.
Thegrassbasketmustbeinplaceduringthemowing
operationformaximumsafety.Shutthemotoroffbefore emptyingthebasket.
Whenapersonoranimalentersthemowingarea,stop
mowing.Carelessoperation,combinedwithterrain angles,ricochets,orimproperlypositionedguardscan leadtothrownobjectinjuries.Donotresumemowing untiltheareaiscleared.
MaintenanceandStorage
Donotopenoralterthebatterypackinanyway .Opening
itmayexposeyoutodangerouselectricalvoltage.The warrantywillbevoidedifyouattempttoopenthebattery pack.Withtheexceptionofthefuse,fusecover,and labels,therearenoconsumerserviceablepartsonorin thebatterypack.
Ifthemotormustberunningtoperformamaintenance
adjustment,keephands,feet,clothing,andanypartsof thebodyawayfromthecuttingunit,attachments,andany movingparts.Keepeveryoneaway.
Ifmajorrepairsareeverneededorifassistanceisdesired,
contactanAuthorizedToroDistributor.

PriortoMowing
Ensurethatthemoweriscarefullyadjustedandissetevenly onbothsidesofthereel.Forbestperformanceandbattery life,setthebedknifetohavealightcontactwiththereel. Impropermoweradjustmentismagniedintheappearance oftheclippedturf.Removeallforeignobjectsfromtheturf priortomowing.Makesureeveryone,especiallychildrenand pets,areclearoftheworkarea.
MethodofMowing
Thegreensshouldbemowedinastraightbackandforth directionacrossthegreen.Avoidcircularmowingorturning themoweronthegreensareassincescufngmayoccur. Turningthemowershouldbedoneoffthegreenbyraising thecuttingreel(pushingthehandledown)andturningonthe tractiondrum.IfyouenabletheEZ-Turnswitch,thetraction unitwillslowdownwhenyouraisethecuttingunitmakingthe turnmoremanageable,especiallyfornoviceusers.Mowing shouldbedoneatanormalwalkingpace.Fastspeedssave verylittletimeandwillresultinaninferiormowingjob.
Toassistinmaintainingastraightlineacrossthegreenand tokeepthemachineanequaldistancefromtheedgeofthe previouscut,usethealignmentstripesonthebasket(Figure

StoringtheMachine

1.Cleanthemachine.

2.Storethemachineinacool,clean,drygarageorstorage area,awayfromdirectsunlight.Donotstoreitina locationwherethetemperaturewilldropbelow-25 degreesC(-13degreesF)orriseabove45degreesC (113degreesF).Temperaturesoutsideofthisrange
willdamageyourbattery.
Important:Thetemperaturethatthebatterypack isstoredatwillaffectitslongtermlife.Storage forlongperiodsoftimeathightemperatureswill reducethelifeofthebatterypack,especiallyifthe packisstoredwithahighcharge.Wherepossible storethemachineinacool(notbelowfreezing) location.

abusive,negligent,orrecklessmanner.
Partssubjecttoconsumptionthroughuseunlessfoundtobe
defective.Examplesofpartswhichareconsumed,orusedup, duringnormalProductoperationinclude,butarenotlimitedto,brake padsandlinings,clutchlinings,blades,reels,rollersandbearings (sealedorgreasable),bedknives,sparkplugs,castorwheelsand bearings,tires,lters,belts,andcertainsprayercomponentssuchas diaphragms,nozzles,andcheckvalves,etc.
Failurescausedbyoutsideinuence.Conditionsconsideredtobe
outsideinuenceinclude,butarenotlimitedto,weather,storage practices,contamination,useofunapprovedfuels,coolants, lubricants,additives,fertilizers,water,orchemicals,etc.
Failureorperformanceissuesduetotheuseoffuels(e.g.gasoline,
diesel,orbiodiesel)thatdonotconformtotheirrespectiveindustry standards.
Normalnoise,vibration,wearandtear,anddeterioration.
Normal“wearandtear”includes,butisnotlimitedto,damageto
seatsduetowearorabrasion,wornpaintedsurfaces,scratched decalsorwindows,etc.
Parts
Partsscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenancearewarranted fortheperiodoftimeuptothescheduledreplacementtimeforthatpart. Partsreplacedunderthiswarrantyarecoveredforthedurationofthe originalproductwarrantyandbecomethepropertyofT oro.Torowill makethenaldecisionwhethertorepairanyexistingpartorassemblyor replaceit.T oromayuseremanufacturedpartsforwarrantyrepairs.
DeepCycleandLithium-IonBatteryWarranty:
DeepcycleandLithium-Ionbatterieshaveaspeciedtotalnumberof kilowatt-hourstheycandeliverduringtheirlifetime.Operating,recharging, andmaintenancetechniquescanextendorreducetotalbatterylife.Asthe batteriesinthisproductareconsumed,theamountofusefulworkbetween chargingintervalswillslowlydecreaseuntilthebatteryiscompletelyworn out.Replacementofwornoutbatteries,duetonormalconsumption, istheresponsibilityoftheproductowner.Batteryreplacementmaybe requiredduringthenormalproductwarrantyperiodatowner’sexpense. Note:(Lithium-Ionbatteryonly):ALithium-Ionbatteryhasapartonly proratedwarrantybeginningyear3throughyear5basedonthetime inserviceandkilowatthoursused.RefertotheOperator'sManualfor additionalinformation.
MaintenanceisatOwner’sExpense
Enginetune-up,lubrication,cleaningandpolishing,replacementoflters, coolant,andcompletingrecommendedmaintenancearesomeofthe normalservicesT oroproductsrequirethatareattheowner’sexpense.

RepairbyanAuthorizedT oroDistributororDealerisyoursoleremedy underthiswarranty .
NeitherTheToroCompanynorToroWarrantyCompanyisliablefor indirect,incidentalorconsequentialdamagesinconnectionwiththe useoftheToroProductscoveredbythiswarranty ,includingany costorexpenseofprovidingsubstituteequipmentorserviceduring reasonableperiodsofmalfunctionornon-usependingcompletion ofrepairsunderthiswarranty.ExceptfortheEmissionswarranty referencedbelow,ifapplicable,thereisnootherexpresswarranty . Allimpliedwarrantiesofmerchantabilityandtnessforuseare limitedtothedurationofthisexpresswarranty .
Somestatesdonotallowexclusionsofincidentalorconsequential damages,orlimitationsonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sothe aboveexclusionsandlimitationsmaynotapplytoyou.Thiswarranty givesyouspeciclegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveotherrightswhich varyfromstatetostate.
