Neverallowchildrentooperatethetractionunitor
cuttingunits.Donotallowadultstooperatetractionunit orcuttingunitswithoutproperinstruction.Onlytrained operatorswhohavereadthismanualshouldoperatethe tractionunitorcuttingunits.
Neveroperatethecuttingunitswhenundertheinuence
ofdrugsoralcohol.
Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.Iflightning
isseenorthunderisheardinthearea,donotoperate themachine;seekshelter.
Keepallshieldsandsafetydevicesinplace.Ifashield,
safetydeviceordecalisillegibleordamaged,repairor replaceitbeforeoperationiscommenced.Alsotighten anyloosenuts,bolts,andscrewstoensurecuttingunitis insafeoperatingcondition.
Alwayswearsubstantialshoes.Donotoperatecutting
unitswhilewearingsandals,tennisshoesorshorts.Also, donotwearloosettingclothingwhichcouldgetcaught
inmovingparts.Alwayswearlongpantsandsubstantial shoes.Wearingsafetyglasses,safetyshoesandahelmet isadvisableandrequiredbysomelocalordinancesand insuranceregulations.
Removealldebrisorotherobjectsthatmightbepicked
upandthrownbythecuttingunitreelblades.Keepall bystandersawayfromtheworkingarea.
Ifthecuttingbladesstrikeasolidobjectortheunit
vibratesabnormally,stopandshuttheengineoff.Check cuttingunitfordamagedparts.Repairanydamagebefore restartingandoperatingthecuttingunit.
Lowerthecuttingunitstothegroundandremovekey
fromignitionswitchwhenevermachineisleftunattended.
Besurecuttingunitsareinsafeoperatingconditionby
keepingnuts,boltsandscrewstight.
Removekeyfromignitionswitchtopreventaccidental
startingoftheenginewhenservicing,adjustingorstoring themachine.
Performonlythosemaintenanceinstructionsdescribedin
thismanual.Ifmajorrepairsareeverneededorassistance isdesired,contactanAuthorizedT oroDistributor.

Afterthecuttingunitisremovedfromthebox,inspectthe following:
1.Checkeachendofthereelforgrease.Greaseshould bevisiblyevidentinthereelbearingsandinternal splinesofthereelshaft.
2.Ensurethatallnutsandboltsaresecurelytightened.

Wheneverthecuttingunithastobetippedtoexposethe bedknife/reel,propuptherearofthecuttingunitwiththe kickstand(suppliedwiththetractionunit)tomakesurethe nutsonthebackendofthebedbaradjustingscrewsarenot restingontheworksurface(Figure3).

Comb/ScraperKit:Axedcombinstalledbehindthefront rollerwhichhelpsreducegrainandspongyturfbystanding upthegrassbeforecutting.AscraperforthefrontWiehle rollerisincludedinthekit.
FixedPlateKit:Boltingonxedplatesoverthesuspension mountinglinksremovesthepitchmovementofthecutting unit.Recommendedforuseonlevelsurfacesandforhigher heightsofcut(greaterthan38mm[1.50inches]).Because thefrontrollerisremovedwhenusingthexedplates,the qualityofcut(efciencyofcut)isincreased.
ShoulderRoller:Helpsreduceover-lapmarksforwarm seasongrasses(Bermuda,Zoysia,Paspalum).Theshoulder rollershouldonlybeusedasthefrontrolleronthecenter (rear)cuttingunit.
CollarKit(6neededperroller):Helpsreduceoverlap marksforwarmseasongrasses(Bermuda,Zoysia,Paspalum). Thiskitisinstalledontheouterthreegroovesoftheexisting Wiehleroller,butisnotasaggressiveastheShoulderroller.
ShortRearRoller:Helpsreducedoublerollermarksforcool seasongrasses(Bent,Bluegrass,Rye).Theshortrollerisonly tobeusedastherearrolleronthecenter(rear)cuttingunit.
FullFrontRoller:Helpsproducemorepronouncedstriping (repeatedcuttinginthesamedirection/path),however, effectiveheightofcutisraisedandqualityofcutisreduced.
Scrapers(Wiehle,Shoulder,Rearroller,FullFront Roller):Fixedscrapersforalloptionalrollersareavailable
forreducinggrassbuilduponrollerswhichcanaffectheight ofcutsettings.
