WARNING
Engineexhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide, whichisanodorless,deadlypoisonthatcan killyou.
Donotrunengineindoorsorinanenclosed area.
Important:Readandunderstandtheseassembly
instructionsbeforeproceeding.RefertotheParts CatalogandOperator'sManualforthemachineto
determinewhichofthesepartsaretobetted.
PreparingtheMachine
NoPartsRequired
Procedure
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandengage theparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey ,andwait fortheenginetocool.
3.Raiseandsupportthetractionunit.
4.Removethe4lugnutssecuringbothwheelsto thetractionunit(Figure1).
Important:Ensurethatallliftingequipmentis
ingoodconditionandhasasafeandadequate capacity.Alwaysseekassistancewhenlifting awkwardorheavyloads.
Important:Torqueallfastenerstothespecied
torquesettings.Thepartsbeingttedmustnotbe drilled,cutoralteredinanyway.

1.Install8bolts(3/8x1inch),curvedwashers, andangenutstosecuretherotarycuttingdeck tothepowerunitasshowninFigure3.
Important:Ensurethattheenginedeckis
paralleltothemowerdeck+/-0.5degrees beforetighteningthexingbolts.

5.Centerthedrivepulleyguardontherearofthe engineframeandinstallitwith2carriagebolts (M10x25mm),heavywashers(M10),spring washers,andnuts(M10)asshowninFigure7.

Machine(page1).
2.Ifthehydraulicpumpbypassvalveisopen, closethebypassvalves,butdonotovertighten.
3.Ensurethatallfastenersarecorrectlytightened andthatalluidlevelsareatthecorrectlevel.
4.Starttheengineandchecktheoperationofall controls;refertothetractionunitOperator’s Manual.
5.Collectallpartsanddocumentationforthe customer.Filloutthewarrantyandpre-delivery inspectiondocumentation.
Note:Awarrantyregistrationcardneedstobe
completed,bothforthepowerunitandthedeck.

SettingtheIdleSpeed
Partsneededforthisprocedure:
1
Screw(M5x50)
Procedure
TocomplywiththeEUNoiseDirective,thedealeris requiredtoverifythecorrectenginespeedof2,900 rpmwhenthepowerunitisconnectedtoModels 02710and02711and3500rpmwhenthepowerunit isconnectedtomodel02712.
2900/3500rpmistheunloadedenginerpm,adjusted withthePTOoff(disengaged).T oleranceisplus0 rpm,minus50rpm.Theengineshouldbewarm;run theenginefor15minutesbeforeadjusting.Double checkthenalenginespeed.
3.Turnthehighidlescrewsothattheendofitjust touchesthespeedcontrollever,andtightenthe locknut(Figure9).
4.Checkthehighidlespeedandrepeatthis procedureifnecessary.
5.Loosenthecablescrewandadjustthecable lengthsothatthethrottleleverontheoperator controlpanelissettofullthrottlewhenthe speedcontrollevertouchesthepreviouslyset highidlescrew.
6.Tightenthecablescrew.
1.Loosenthelocknutandunscrewthehighidle screwafewturns.Whensettingtheengine speedonpowerunitsconnectedtomodels 02710and0271 1,replacethehighidlescrew withthehighidleM5x50screwsuppliedwith 02710and0271 1(Figure9).
