Personal Safety

• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the device. Do not use the

device when you are tired or under influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.

• Avoid unintentional starting. Make sure the switch is on the off position before plugging the device into the

mains and/or fitting the batteries, picking it up or carrying it. Do not carry the device with your finger on
the on-off switch. Do not plug in the device with the switch in the on position.

• Remove any adjusting key before operating the device. A key left attached to the rotating part of the tool

can result in personal injury.

• Do not overreach. Keep proper position and balance at all times.

• Dress in a suitable manner. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and gloves away

from moving parts.

• If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection equipment, make sure that they

are connected and used properly.

• Use the auxiliary handle provided with the device. Hold the device by the insulated gripping surfaces when

performing an operation where cutting accessories may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.

• Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other construction activities contain

chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. To reduce exposure to harmful
chemicals, work in a well-ventilated area with approved protective clothing.

The Device

• Do not force the device. Use the correct device for your application.

• Do not use the device if the switch does not make it possible to change from the operating condition to stop

and vice versa. Any device which cannot be controlled by the switch is dangerous and should be repaired.

• Disconnect the power cord before any adjustment, changing an accessory or before storing the device.

• Keep an idle device out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the device or these

instructions to operate it.

• Maintain the device. Check that there is no misalignment or obstruction of the moving or broken parts, or

any other condition that could affect the operation of the device. In the event of damage, have the device
repaired before using it.

• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

• Use the device, accessories and blades in accordance with these instructions, while taking into account the

work conditions and the work to be done.

3. General Guidelines

Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.

Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.

• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.

• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to

the device is not covered by the warranty.

• Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns, electroshocks,

crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorized way will void the warranty.

• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the

dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.

• Do not switch the device on immediately after it has been exposed to changes in temperature. Protect the

device against damage by leaving it switched off until it has reached room temperature.

5. Operation

WARNING

Before using the device, inspect it and its accessories to ensure there is no

excessive wear.

5.1 Fitting an Accessory

1. Lift the quick-release lever and push forward to disengage the mounting flange.

2. Fit an accessory under the flange. Ensure the correct orientation of the accessory, so it sits within the

location pins on the flange.

3. Push the quick-release lever backward to the previous closed position. Ensure the blade is securely

fastened.

WARNING

This multi tool can fit quick-release accessories. If a quick-release accessory needs

to be fitted, the washer must be fitted on the accessory.

NOTE

Mount bent or cranked blades or scrapers so that the end of the blade sits facing

away from the tool.

5.2 Bracket of the Quick-Release Lever

The main function of the bracket [a] is to avoid damage when the user is fitting or changing accessories.

1. Left the quick-release lever and push forward.

2. The bracket jumps up to support the quick-release lever.

3. After fitting the accessory, push the bracket and quick-release lever backward to their previous position.

5.3 Fitting Sanding Pads and Sanding Sheets

1. Fit the sanding pad by following the steps under chapter 6.1 Fitting an Accessory.

2. Select the required sanding sheet for your intended task.

Sanding sheets are available in a variety of different grades from coarse to fine. Use a coarse grit to sand
down rough finishes, a medium grit to smooth the work, and a fine grit to finish off. Always use good
quality sanding sheets. It is advisable to do a trial run on a scrap piece of material. Choose a finer grit if
there are still marks after sanding.

3. Mount the sanding sheet onto the sanding pad. Carefully line up one corner of the sheet with one corner of

the pad. Then, gradually push the rest of the sheet onto the pad, checking the alignment as you do so, until
the sheet is fitted correctly.

5.4 Switching On and Off

1. Hold the de vice firmly by the handle, with the thumb over the on-off switch.

2. Slide the on-off switch forward until it locks. Slide the on-off switch backward to switch off the device.

WARNING

Allow the device to reach the required speed before making contact with the

workpiece.

WARNING

Vents allow heat generated from the motor to escape the body and must not be

blocked. Dust, wood chips and swarf can block the motor vents, and cause the

device to shut down. Do not allow dust, wood chips and swarf to build up. Use a

vacuum cleaner to keep the work space clean, especially in confined areas, and

when working with harmful substances.

WARNING

If the device gets excessively hot during use, stop using it immediately and allow to

cool before continuing work.

5.5 Speed Adjustment

1. Turn the variable speed dial to higher setting to increase the speed.

2. Turn the variable speed dial to lower setting to decrease the speed.

NOTE

Adjust the speed to best suit the work carried out and to adapt to material

requirements. Also refer to the accessory manufacturer’s instructions.

5.6 Cutting

NOTE

Ensure the cutting blade is sharp and in good condition. Do not use blades that are

visible damaged or deformed in any way.

When cutting light building materials, follow the recommendations of the material

suppliers.

Apply plunge cuts to soft materials only (wood, plasterboard, etc.).

If using blades not designed for cutting metal, ensure there are no nails or screwed

embedded in the work piece. If necessary, remove embedded objects or use metal

cutting blades instead.

5.7 Sanding

NOTE

The removing rate and sanding pattern are determined by the type of sanding

sheet, the preset oscillation rate and the applied pressure.

Pay particular attention to applying uniform sanding pressure. This increases the

working life of the sanding sheets. Intensifying the sanding pressure will not lead to

an increase of the sanding capacity, but to the increased wear of the machine and

premature wear of the sanding sheet.

For precise, on-the-spot sanding of edges, corners and hard-to-reach areas, it is

also possible to work only with the tip or an edge of the sanding sheet.

A sanding sheet that has been used for sanding metal should not be used for

sanding other materials.

Regularly brush down or vacuum the surface being sanded to ensure the sanding

sheet is in direct contact with the surface.

5.8 Scraping

NOTE

For scraping, select a high speed setting.

On soft surfaces like wood, work at a flat angle and apply only light pressure so that

the scraper does not cut into the surface.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

• Keep the ventilation openings clear, clean and dust-free at all times.

• If the device is running erratically or something unusual occurs during use, immediately switch off the

device and unplug from the mains. Inspect the device before using it again. Repair must only be carried out
by a qualified technician.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified technician.

• Wipe with a damp cloth to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong

detergents.

• Clean the device and accessories before storing.

Storing

• Store the device, its accessories and this user manual in the original packaging.

• Always store in a cool and dry place.

aardlekschakelaar.

Persoonlijke veiligheid

• Wees alert, let goed op wat u doet en ga verstandig te werk. Gebruik het toestel niet als u moe bent of

onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen.

• Voorkom per ongeluk inschakelen. Controleer of het toestel uitgeschakeld is voordat u de stekker in het

stopcontact steekt en/of de batterijen plaatst, het toestel oppakt of draagt. Draag het toestel niet met de
vinger op de aan/uit-schakelaar. Sluit het toestel niet aan wanneer de schakelaar op "ON" staat.

• Verwijder alle sleutels voordat u het toestel inschakelt. Een sleutel die zich in een draaiend deel van het

toestel bevindt, kan tot verwondingen leiden.

• Zorg voor een veilige houding. Zorg dat u uw evenwicht niet verliest.

• Draag gepaste kleding. Draag geen wijde kleren of sieraden. Houd uw haar, kleren en handschoenen buiten

het bereik van bewegende delen.

• Als er stofzuig- en stofopvanginrichtingen kunnen worden gemonteerd, zorg ervoor dat deze aangesloten

zijn en correct worden gebruikt.

• Gebruik de meegeleverde hulphandgrepen. Houd het toestel vast aan het geïsoleerde oppervlak van de

handgrepen wanneer u werkt op plaatsen waar het snijgereedschap met verborgen bedrading of zijn eigen
snoer in aanraking kan komen.

• Stof dat tijdens het schuren, zagen, slijpen, boren of andere constructieactiviteiten vrijkomt, kan chemische

bestanddelen bevatten die kanker, geboortedefecten of andere voortplantingsschade kunnen veroorzaken.
Om blootstelling aan chemische bestanddelen te verminderen moeten de werkzaamheden uitgevoerd
worden in een goed geventileerde ruimte en gebruikmakend van goedgekeurde beschermende kledij.

Het toestel

• Overbelast het toestel niet. Gebruik het toestel enkel voor de toepassingen waarvoor het ontworpen werd.

• Gebruik het toestel niet waarvan de aan/uit-schakelaar defect is. Een toestel dat niet meer kan worden in-

of uitgeschakeld, is gevaarlijk en moet worden hersteld.

• Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact voor u toestel instelt, toebehoren vervangt of het toestel opbergt.

• Houd het toestel buiten het bereik van kinderen wanneer niet in gebruik. Personen die niet met het toestel

vertrouwd zijn of die deze gebruiksaanwijzingen niet hebben gelezen, mogen het toestel niet gebruiken.

• Onderhoud het toestel. Controleer op verkeerd uitgelijnde of vastgelopen bewegende onderdelen, breuk of

andere defecten die de werking van het toestel zouden kunnen beïnvloeden. Laat beschadigde onderdelen
herstellen voor gebruik.

• Houd snijgereedschap scherp en proper.

• Gebruik het toestel, toebehoren en messen in overeenstemming met deze instructies. Let daarbij op de

werkomstandigheden en de uit te voeren werkzaamheden.

3. Algemene richtlijnen

Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze handleiding.

Bescherm tegen schokken. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de bediening van het toestel.

• Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken.

• Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel. Schade door wijzigingen die de

gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel valt niet onder de garantie.

• Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. Andere toepassingen kunnen leiden tot kortsluitingen,

brandwonden, elektrische schokken, enz. Bij onoordeelkundig gebruik vervalt de garantie.

• De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw

dealer zal de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee
houden.

• Schakel het toestel niet onmiddellijk in nadat het werd blootgesteld aan temperatuurschommelingen. Om

beschadiging te vermijden, moet u wachten tot het toestel de kamertemperatuur heeft bereikt.

5. Gebruik

WAARSCHUWING

Controleer of het toestel en de accessoires geen sporen van slijtage vertonen

alvorens het te gebruiken.

5.1 Een accessoire monteren

1. Til de spanhendel op en duw deze voorwaarts om de montageflens los te koppelen.

2. Plaats een accessoire onder de flens. Let op de correcte oriëntatie van het accessoire zodanig dat het in de

pinnen van de flens past.

3. Kantel de spanhendel naar de oorspronkelijke gesloten positie. Controleer of het blad stevig is bevestigd.

WAARSCHUWING

Dit multigereedschap is geschikt voor verwisselbare accessoires. Voor het monteren

van een accessoire dient u de dichtingsring op het accessoire te plaatsen.

OPMERKING

Bladen of schrapers die hoekig of gebogen zijn, moeten dusdanig worden

aangebracht dat het einde van het blad weg is gericht van het toestel.

5.2 Klemsysteem

De belangrijkste functie van het klemsysteem [a] is om schade te voorkomen wanneer de gebruiker een
accessoire plaatst of verwisselt.

1. Til de spanhendel op en duw deze voorwaarts.

2. Het klemsysteem veert op om de spanhendel te ondersteunen.

3. Na het monteren van het accessoire, kantel het klemsysteem en de spanhendel naar de oorspronkelijke

positie.

5.3 Het schuurkussen en schuurvellen plaatsen

1. Breng het schuurkussen aan in overeenstemming met de instructies beschreven in 6.1 Een accessoire

monteren

2. Selecteer het vereiste schuurvel voor uw toepassing.

Schuurvellen zijn verkrijgbaar in verschillende korrelgroottes, van grof tot fijn. Gebruik een grove
korrelgrootte om een ruwe afwerking uit te voeren, een gemiddelde korrelgrootte om het werk verder af te
vlakken, en een fijne korrelgrootte om de afwerking door te voeren. Gebruik steeds schuurvellen van hoge
kwaliteit. Het is raadzaam om het schuren te testen op een stuk afvalmateriaal. Kies een fijnere
korrelgrootte indien er nog steeds markeringen zichtbaar zijn na het schuren.

3. Leg het schuurvel op het schuurkussen. Lijn een hoek van het vel uit met een hoek van het schuurkussen.

Duw geleidelijk de rest van het vel op het kussen, terwijl u de uitlijning controleert, en dit tot het vel
correct is aangebracht.

5.4 In- en uitschakelen

1. Houd het toestel stevig bij de greep vast, met de duim over de aan/uit-schakelaar.

2. Schuif de aan/uit-schakelaar naar voren tot deze vergrendelt. Schuif de aan/uit-schakelaar naar achteren

om het toestel uit te schakelen.

WAARSCHUWING

Laat het toestel de vereiste snelheid bereiken alvorens contact te maken met het

werkstuk.

WAARSCHUWING

Hitte die gegenereerd wordt door de motor, kan ontsnappen via de ventilatiegaten

van het toestel en mogen niet geblokkeerd worden. Stof, houtsnippers en spanen

kunnen de ventilatiegaten blokkeren en ervoor zorgen dat het toestel stilvalt. Zorg

ervoor dat stof, snippers en spanen niet kunnen ophopen. Gebruik een stofzuiger

om de werkruimte proper te houden, in het bijzonder in kleinere ruimtes en

wanneer er gewerkt wordt met schadelijke substanties.

WAARSCHUWING

Als het toestel uitzonderlijk heet wordt, stop dan onmiddellijk het gebruik en laat

het afkoelen alvorens de werkzaamheden opnieuw te starten.

5.5 Snelheidsregeling

1. Draai de variabele snelheidsknop naar een hogere positie om de snelheid te verhogen.

2. Draai de variabele snelheidsknop naar een lagere positie om de snelheid te verlagen.

OPMERKING

Pas de snelheid aan het uit te voeren werk en aan de door het materiaal gestelde

eisen. Raadpleeg de instructies van de fabrikant van de accessoires.

5.6 Zagen

OPMERKING

Controleer of het zaagblad scherp is en in goede staat verkeert. Gebruik geen

zaagbladen die beschadigd of vervormd zijn.

Bij het zagen van lichte bouwmaterialen, volg de aanbevelingen van de leveranciers

van materialen.

Voer alleen invallende sneden uit in zachte materialen (bv. hout, gipsplaat, enz.).

Indien u zaagbladen gebruikt die niet bedoeld zijn om metaal te zagen, zorg er dan

voor dat er geen spijkers of schroeven in het werkstuk achtergebleven zijn. Indien

nodig, verwijder ingebedde voorwerpen of gebruik metaalzaagbladen.

5.7 Schuren

OPMERKING

De verwijdersnelheid en het schuurpatroon worden bepaald door het type schuurvel,

door de ingestelde oscillatiesnelheid, en door de uitgeoefende druk.

Zorg er in het bijzonder voor dat u een uniforme druk uitoefent tijdens het schuren.

Dit vergroot de levensduur van de schuurvellen. Het opvoeren van de schuurdruk

zal geen aanleiding geven tot het verbeteren van de schuurcapaciteit, maar wel tot

een hogere slijtage van de machine en tot een vroegtijdige slijtage van de

schuurvellen.

Voor het nauwkeurig schuren in hoeken, op randen, en in moeilijk te bereiken zones

is het eveneens mogelijk om enkel te werken met de punt of met een rand van het

schuurkussen.

Een schuurvel dat gebruikt werd om metaal te schuren, mag niet gebruikt worden

om andere materialen te schuren.

Borstel of zuig regelmatig het te schuren oppervlak schoon om er zeker van te zijn

dat het schuurvel rechtstreeks in contact staat met het oppervlak.

5.8 Schrapen

OPMERKING

Voor het schrapen dient u een hogere snelheid in te stellen.

Op zachte oppervlakken (bv. hout) dient u onder een vlakke hoek te werken en

slechts een lichte druk uit te oefenen zodat de schraper niet in het oppervlak snijdt.

6. Reiniging en onderhoud

• Zorg ervoor dat de ventilatieopeningen altijd vrij zijn.

• Als het toestel niet correct functioneert, schakel het onmiddellijk uit en trek de stekker uit. Controleer het

toestel voor u het opnieuw gebruikt. Laat het toestel herstellen door een vakman.

• Indien de voedingskabel beschadigd is, laat deze dan door een vakman vervangen.

• Reinig het toestel af en toe met een vochtige doek. Gebruik geen bijtende chemische producten,

reinigingsmiddelen of sterke detergenten.

• Reinig het toestel en de toebehoren voor u het opbergt.

Opslag

• Bewaar het toestel, de toebehoren en deze handleiding in de oorspronkelijke verpakking.

• Bewaar het toestel steeds in een koele en droge ruimte.
