 Keep this device away from children and unauthorized users.  This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

 There are no user serviceable parts inside the fixture. Refer to an authorized dealer for service

and/or spare parts.

 Do not crimp the power cord and protect it against damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it

must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

 Do not use the device when noticing damage to housing or cables. Do not attempt to service the

device yourself but contact an authorised dealer.

Always disconnect mains power when device is not in use or when servicing or during maintenance activities. When unplugging from the mains, only handle the power cord by the plug.

Class II: this device is designed with double insulation.

Always wear eye and ear protection, gloves and a dust mask when using this device.

2. Safety Instructions

Work Area

 Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.  Do not operate electric devices in explosive atmospheres and in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or

dust.

 Keep bystanders and children away while operating the device. Distractions can cause you to lose control of

the device.

Electrical Safety

 Never modify the plug or power cord in any way. Do not use adapters with earthed devices.  Avoid any body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and

refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

 Do not expose the device to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the device will increase the risk of

electric shock.

 When using the device outside, use an extension cable suitable for outside use.

Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.

 If use of the device in humid locations is unavoidable, connect the device to a power supply protected by an

RCD (Residual Current Differential) device.

Personal Safety

 Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the device. Do not use the

device when you are tired or under influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.

 Avoid unintentional starting. Make sure the switch is on the off position before plugging the device into the

mains and/or fitting the batteries, picking it up or carrying it. Do not carry the device with your finger on the on-off switch. Do not plug in the device with the switch in the on position.

 Remove any adjusting key before operating the device. A key left attached to the rotating part of the tool

can result in personal injury.

 Do not overreach. Keep proper position and balance at all times.  Dress in a suitable manner. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and gloves away

from moving parts.

 If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection equipment, make sure that they

are connected and used properly.

 Use the auxiliary handle provided with the device. Hold the device by the insulated gripping surfaces when

performing an operation where cutting accessories may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.

 Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other construction activities contain

chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. To reduce exposure to harmful chemicals, work in a well-ventilated area with approved protective clothing.

The Device

 Do not force the device. Use the correct device for your application.  Do not use the device if the switch does not make it possible to change from the operating condition to stop

and vice versa. Any device which cannot be controlled by the switch is dangerous and should be repaired.

 Disconnect the power cord before any adjustment, changing an accessory or before storing the device.  Keep an idle device out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the device or these

instructions to operate it.

 Maintain the device. Check that there is no misalignment or obstruction of the moving or broken parts, or

any other condition that could affect the operation of the device. In the event of damage, have the device repaired before using it.

 Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.  Use the device, accessories and blades in accordance with these instructions, while taking into account the

work conditions and the work to be done.

3. General Guidelines

Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.

 Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.  All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Note that damage caused by user

modifications to the device are not covered by the warranty.

 Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns, electro-

shocks, lamp explosion, crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorized way will void the warranty.

 Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the

dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.

 Do not switch the device on immediately after it has been exposed to changes in temperature. Protect the

device against damage by leaving it switched off until it has reached room temperature.

5. Operation

5.1 Mounting the Saw Blade

Make sure to keep the blade holder clean from saw dust.

1. Loosen the setting screws.

2. Slide the blade fully in its holder. Make sure that the back of the blade slides into the slot of the guide.

3. Tighten the setting screws. These screws can become loose during use and damage the blade. Therefore,

regularly check and make sure the blade sits tight in its holder. Re-tighten the screws if necessary. Only check the blade when the device is switched off and disconnected from the mains, and the blade is idle. For the best results, use sharp blades only. Replace worn blades with new ones. The use of worn blades will diminish the accuracy of the device and may overload the motor.

5.2 Pendulum Setting

The pendulum setting allows setting the device in the desired cutting angle. Set the switch in the desired pendulum position.

5.3 General Use

Clamp the workpiece tightly. Make sure to place the side which will be visible later face down, as the sawing action is more precise.

 Wait for the blade to come to full speed before cutting the workpiece.  Do not apply pressure to the blade. Let the device do the cutting and do not force.  Mark the workpiece if you want to cut a straight line.  Turn the setting wheel to set the cutting motion of the blade.  To lock the on-off switch, press the on-off switch and lock with the locking knob. To unlock, press the on-off

switch once again.

 When cutting metal, always use a cooling liquid (oil or water) to avoid overheating the workpiece.  After use, switch off the device and wait for the blade to stop before putting the device down.

5.4 Using the Laser

The laser will project a cutting line onto the workpiece.

1. Switch on the laser.

2. Place the device on the workpiece, the cutting mark above cutting line.

3. Make sure the laser is in line with the marking on the workpiece.

4. Switch on the device.

5.5 Dust Extraction

Together with an external vacuum cleaner, the dust extraction will keep the workpiece free of dust. Connect the vacuum adapter to the dust extraction outlet. Connect a vacuum cleaner to the device.

5.6 Lubrication

Regularly lubricate the guide with a drop of lubricating oil.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

 Keep the ventilation openings clear, clean and dust-free at all times.  If the device is running erratically or something unusual occurs during use, immediately switch off the

device and unplug from the mains. Inspect the device before using it again. Also, ask a qualified technician to repair the device.

 If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified technician.  Wipe with a damp cloth to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong

detergents.

 Clean the device and accessories before storing.

Storing

 Store the device, its accessories and this user manual in the original packaging.  Always store in a cool and dry place.

 Houd dit toestel buiten het bereik van kinderen en onbevoegden.  Dit toestel is geschikt voor gebruik door kinderen vanaf 8 jaar, door personen met fysieke,

zintuiglijke of verstandelijke beperkingen, of door personen met gebrek aan ervaring en kennis, op voorwaarde dat dit onder toezicht gebeurt van een persoon die verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid of hun aanwijzingen heeft gegeven, hoe zij het toestel moeten gebruiken en zich bewust zijn van de risico's die het gebruik van het toestel met zich meebrengt. Kinderen mogen niet met het toestel spelen. Reiniging en onderhoud mogen niet worden uitgevoerd door kinderen zonder toezicht.

 Er zijn geen onderdelen in het toestel die door de gebruiker gerepareerd kunnen worden.

 De voedingskabel mag niet beschadigd zijn of ingekort worden. Indien de voedingskabel

beschadigd is, dan moet deze door de fabrikant, diens servicedienst, of een gelijkwaardig bekwaam persoon vervangen worden om gevaar te voorkomen.

 Gebruik het toestel niet indien de behuizing of de bekabeling beschadigd is. Probeer in geen

geval het toestel zelf te repareren maar contacteer uw verdeler.

Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact wanneer het toestel niet in gebruik is of voordat u het toestel reinigt. Houd de voedingskabel altijd vast bij de stekker en niet bij de kabel.

KLASSE II: Dit toestel is uitgerust met dubbele isolatie.

Draag altijd oog- en gehoorbescherming, handschoenen en een masker tijdens het gebruik.

1. Inleiding

Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan dat, als het na zijn levenscyclus wordt weggeworpen, dit toestel schade kan toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel (en eventuele batterijen) niet bij het gewone huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij een gespecialiseerd bedrijf terechtkomen voor recyclage. U moet dit toestel naar uw verdeler of naar een lokaal recyclagepunt brengen. Respecteer de plaatselijke milieuwetgeving.

2. Veiligheidsinstructies

Werkplaats

 Werk enkel in een goed verlichte werkplaats. Een rommelige of onverlichte werkomgeving kan tot

ongevallen leiden.

 Gebruik elektrische toestellen niet in een omgeving met explosiegevaar waarin zich brandbare vloeistoffen,

brandbare gassen of stoffen bevinden.

 Houd omstanders en kinderen op afstand wanneer u het toestel gebruikt. Wanneer u wordt afgeleid, kunt u

de controle over het toestel verliezen.

Elektrische veiligheid

 De stekker of de voedingskabel mogen in geen geval worden veranderd. Gebruik geen adapters in

combinatie met geaarde elektrische toestellen.

Bescherm tegen schokken. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de bediening van het toestel.

 Voorkom aanraking van het lichaam met geaarde oppervlakken (bv. buizen, verwarmingen, fornuizen en

koelkasten). Er bestaat een verhoogd risico op elektrische schokken wanneer uw lichaam geaard is.

 Houd het toestel uit de buurt van regen en vocht. Het binnensijpelen van water in het toestel verhoogt het

risico op elektrische schokken.

 Bij gebruik buitenshuis, gebruik dan een verlengkabel die geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis.  Als het gebruik van het toestel in een vochtige omgeving onvermijdelijk is, sluit het toestel aan op een

aardlekschakelaar.

Persoonlijke veiligheid

 Wees alert, let goed op wat u doet en ga verstandig te werk. Gebruik het toestel niet als u moe bent of

onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen.

 Voorkom per ongeluk inschakelen. Controleer of het toestel uitgeschakeld is voordat u de stekker in het

stopcontact steekt en/of de batterijen plaatst, het toestel oppakt of draagt. Draag het toestel niet met de vinger op de aan/uit-schakelaar. Sluit het toestel niet aan wanneer de schakelaar op "ON" staat.

 Verwijder alle sleutels voordat u het toestel inschakelt. Een sleutel die zich in een draaiend deel van het

toestel bevindt, kan tot verwondingen leiden.

 Zorg voor een veilige houding. Zorg dat u uw evenwicht niet verliest.  Draag gepaste kleding. Draag geen wijde kleren of sieraden. Houd uw haar, kleren en handschoenen buiten

het bereik van bewegende delen.

 Als er stofzuig- en stofopvanginrichtingen kunnen worden gemonteerd, zorg ervoor dat deze aangesloten

zijn en correct worden gebruikt.

 Gebruik de meegeleverde hulphandgrepen. Houd het toestel vast aan het geïsoleerde oppervlak van de

handgrepen wanneer u werkt op plaatsen waar het snijgereedschap met verborgen bedrading of zijn eigen snoer in aanraking kan komen.

 Stof dat tijdens het schuren, zagen, slijpen, boren of andere constructieactiviteiten vrijkomt, kan chemische

bestanddelen bevatten die kanker, geboortedefecten of andere voortplantingsschade kunnen veroorzaken. Om blootstelling aan chemische bestanddelen te verminderen moeten de werkzaamheden uitgevoerd worden in een goed geventileerde ruimte en gebruikmakend van goedgekeurde beschermende kledij.

Het toestel

 Overbelast het toestel niet. Gebruik het toestel enkel voor de toepassingen waarvoor het ontworpen werd.  Gebruik het toestel niet waarvan de aan/uit-schakelaar defect is. Een toestel dat niet meer kan worden in-

of uitgeschakeld, is gevaarlijk en moet worden hersteld.

 Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact voor u toestel instelt, toebehoren vervangt of het toestel opbergt.  Houd het toestel buiten het bereik van kinderen wanneer niet in gebruik. Personen die niet met het toestel

vertrouwd zijn of die deze gebruiksaanwijzingen niet hebben gelezen, mogen het toestel niet gebruiken.

 Onderhoud het toestel. Controleer op verkeerd uitgelijnde of vastgelopen bewegende onderdelen, breuk of

andere defecten die de werking van het toestel zouden kunnen beïnvloeden. Laat beschadigde onderdelen herstellen voor gebruik.

 Houd snijgereedschap scherp en proper.  Gebruik het toestel, toebehoren en messen in overeenstemming met deze instructies. Let daarbij op de

werkomstandigheden en de uit te voeren werkzaamheden.

3. Algemene richtlijnen

Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze handleiding.

 Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken.  Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel. Schade door wijzigingen die de

gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel valt niet onder de garantie.

 Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. Andere toepassingen kunnen leiden tot kortsluitingen,

brandwonden, elektrische schokken, enz. Bij onoordeelkundig gebruik vervalt de garantie.

 De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw

dealer zal de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.

 Schakel het toestel niet onmiddellijk in nadat het werd blootgesteld aan temperatuurschommelingen. Om

beschadiging te vermijden, moet u wachten tot het toestel de kamertemperatuur heeft bereikt.

 Bewaar deze handleiding voor verdere raadpleging.

4. Omschrijving

5. Gebruik

5.1 Monteren van het zaagblad

De uitsparing in de zaagblaadhouder dient schoon en vrij van zaagsel te zijn.

1. Draai de instelschroeven los.

2. Schuif het zaagblad tot de aanslag in de zaagbladhouder. Let op dat de rug van het zaagblad in de gleuf

van de geleiderol valt.

3. Draai de instelschroeven stevig vast. Deze schroeven kunnen tijdens het gebruik lostrillen en het zaagblad

beschadigen. Controleer daarom regelmatig of het zaagblad goed vastzit en draai indien nodig de instelschroeven aan. Voer deze controle alleen uit wanneer het toestel uitgeschakeld is, de stekker uit het stopcontact verwijderd is en het zaagblad stilstaat. Scherpe zaagbladen zorgen voor het beste resultaten. Vervang versleten bijtijds voor nieuwe. Onthoud dat voortdurend gebruik van beschadigde zaagbladen de nauwkeurigheid van het toestel vermindert en kan leiden tot overbelasting van de motor.

5.2 Pendelinstelling

Met de pendelinstelling stelt u de juiste zaaghoek in voor het te zagen materiaal. Zet de schakelaar in de gewenste pendelstand.

5.3 Algemeen gebruik

Klem het werkstuk vast. Zorg daarbij dat de zijde die later zichtbaar is naar onderen ligt, omdat de zaagsnede van die kant het nauwkeurigst is.

 Zorg dat het zaagblad op snelheid is voordat deze het werkstuk raakt.  Oefen geen druk uit op het zaagblad. Geef het toestel de tijd om door het werkstuk heen te zagen.  Voor zagen langs een getrokken lijn gebruikt u de markering.  Om de zaagbeweging te regelen, draait u aan het instelwiel.  Om het toestel in continubedrijf te schakelen, houd de aan-uitschakelaar ingedrukt en druk de

vergrendelknop in. Om het continubedrijf uit te schakelen, druk de aan-uitschakelaar nog eens in.

 Gebruik bij het zagen van metaal altijd een koelmiddel (olie of water) om oververhitting van het werkstuk

te voorkomen.

 Schakel het toestel uit en wacht tot het zaagblad stilstaat voordat u het weglegt.

5.4 Gebruik van de laser

Met de laserstraal projecteert u de zaagsnede op het werkstuk.

1. Schakel de laser in met de aan-uitschakelaar.

2. Plaats het toestel op het werkstuk met de zaagmarkering boven de start van de zaaglijn.

3. Controller of de laserlijn op een lijn is met de op het werkstuk afgetekende zaaglijn.

4. Schakel het toestel in.

5. Schakel de laser uit met de aan-uitschakelaar.

5.5 Stofafzuiging

De stofafvoeropening zorgt met behulp van een externe stofzuiger voor stofafzuiging van het werkoppervlak. Plaats de adapter op de aansluiting. Sluit een stofzuiger aan op het toestel.

5.6 Smering

Smeer de geleiderol van tijd tot tijd in met een druppel olie.

6. Reiniging en onderhoud

 Zorg ervoor dat de ventilatieopeningen altijd vrij zijn.  Als het toestel niet correct functioneert, schakel het onmiddellijk uit en trek de stekker uit. Controleer het

toestel voor u het opnieuw gebruikt. Laat het toestel herstellen door een vakman.

 Indien de voedingskabel beschadigd is, laat deze dan door een vakman vervangen.  Reinig het toestel af en toe met een vochtige doek. Gebruik geen bijtende chemische producten,

reinigingsmiddelen of sterke detergenten.

 Reinig het toestel en de toebehoren voor u het opbergt.

Opslag

 Bewaar het toestel, de toebehoren en deze handleiding in de oorspronkelijke verpakking.  Bewaar het toestel steeds in een koele en droge ruimte.
