The Sencore DTU-series (ATSC/QAM/NTSC)
RF adapter is a lightweight and easy to use
portable RF measurement and analysis tool.
Tune any UHF/VHF or cable channel and
record MPEG-2 Transport Streams from the
RF or ASI connection directly to a laptop for
effortless field testing and recording. The
DTU-series RF adapter enables engineers
and technicians to take a snapshot of their RF
signal quality including RF level, MER, Pre­BER and Post BER for quick troubleshooting
and RF analysis.

RFXpert Software Features

· True demodulated digital readings for MER, Pre-BER, Post BER, and EVM

The DTU-235 and DTU-236
can be combined with
Sencore’s RFXpert software for
a truly powerful RF measure­ment tool that can be used in
the field or in the lab. RFXpert
provides an easy-to-read spec­tral display with a choice of sin­gle channel, adjacent channel,

or full spectral display for test­ing channel interference or a dropped channel. RFXpert also
provides both constellation and eye diagram displays and
the ability to turn off and on 8-VSB tap equalization to see
the uncorrected signal being received. All measurements are
true demodulated digital readings for MER, Pre-BER, Post
BER, and EVM. RFXpert records the transport stream at a
full 19.39 Mb/s, exactly like customers receive the signal giv­ing engineers a proof-positive method of signal documenta­tion or drop-point comparisons with programmable, user­defined logging and auto inspection capabilities. Simply set
the parameters to be tested against and run the “Auto
Inspect” to get a passed / failed report that can be stored for
future reference or documentation. Using a client server
architecture, RFXpert allows access to the adapters over any
LAN connection. The DTU-236 hardware supports 44 MHz
frequencies making RFXpert software ideal for IF analysis.

StreamXpert_________________________

StreamXpert software can be
used in conjunction with the
RF adapters for complete
analysis of the MPEG infor­mation. StreamXpert per­forms real-time analysis,
monitoring and recording of
MPEG-2 transport streams.

Complete diagnostics and
statistics for PIDs, services, components and tables (includ­ing deep decoding of PSI and DBV/SI tables) will be pro­duced by StreamXpert operating at the maximum effective
DVB/ASI bit rate (214 Mbit/s) StreamXpert will also decode
custom tables and descriptors using custom templates. The
unique PID grid displays an instant overview of the entire
contents of the transport stream. StreamXpert also supports
audio decoding with AC3 audio decoding. StreamXpert per­forms all ETR101-290 measurements including PCR analy­sis. Like RFXpert, StreamXpert can capture the transport
stream to a file for offline analysis.
