• T
he electrodes must not be positioned close to the eyes; make sure that the current
de
liver
ed does not cross the eyeball (one electrode diamet
rically
opposite to the other in
relati
on to the eye); keep a distance of at least 3 cm. from the eyeball.
• W
hen using the electrodes, follow the instructions given in this manual and on the package of
the electrodes themselves. Use single-patient electrodes, supplied e
xclusively
by the

9. Electrostimulation and stimulation intensity.
Electrostimulation con
sists
of the tran
smissi
on of elect
ric microimpulses
to the human body.
Fields
of app
licati
on of electrostimulation are: pain therapy, recovery of mu
scl
e troph
ism
after
injury or
a surgical operation, athletic preparation and beauty treatments.
Specific electric impulses ar
e used for every one of these app
lications
.
Th
e stimulation
intensity is displayed on the T-ONE scr
een for each channel in a scale
progre
ssi
ng from 0 to 120.
T
he types of impulses can be cla
ssifi
ed as follows:
1. Tens impu
lse: for tens programs, the intensity should be adjusted to a level between
the thresholds of perception and pain. The ma
ximum limit is reac
hed when the mu
scles
surr
ounding the area treated begin to contract. It is best to stay below that
limi
t.
2. I
onophoresis impu
lse: the intensity must be strong enough to produce a relevant
perception, near pain, t
ill
the mu
scles surr
ounding the area treated begin to contract.
3. Lipolysis/drainag
e impu
lse: the “pump” effect is produced by sequential tonic
c
ontractions. The intensity must be enough to produce these contractions: the greater
the contraction is, the greater the pump effect
will
be. But beware: there is no benefit to
be gained from enduring intensity high enough to cause pain. The f
irs
t
electrostimulation se
ssions s
hould be ca
rri
ed out at a low intensity to allow the organ
ism
to get used to new sensations. That way intensity can be increased gradua
lly
and
will
not be traumatic.
4. Warming-up impulse: in this case stimulation intensity must be increased gradua
lly
to
increas
e the metabo
lism
of the mu
scle concer
ned gradua
lly. A
bit
like wi
th a car: the
engine needs wa
rming-
up before it is taken to full speed.
5.
Toning, training, atr
oph
y c
ontraction impu
lse: the mu
scl
e treated must
visibly
c
ontract during a training impulse. The fact that the mu
scl
e tends to stiffen and increase
in volume will
be
visibl
e to the naked eye. Intensity should be increased gradua
lly (i
n the
f
irst c
ontraction) to enable you to identify the right level of stimulation comfort. Intensity
c
an be increased up to the personal tolerance threshold during the second training
c
ontraction; this operation is then repeated during each contraction until the wo
rkl
oad
reaches
the level of intensity recommended in the de
scripti
on of the single programs.
We recomm
end that you record the level of intensity reached in order to try to improve
the level of stimulation and consequently your performance.
6. Massage, winding down, active recovery impu
lse: intensity must be adjusted
gradua
lly
to massage the mu
scl
e treated. The level of intensity should be suff
ici
ent to obtain a comfortable massage. Bear in mind that there is no need to endure high i
ntensity levels in this case as it is meant to be a massage, meaning that intensity can be
increas
ed gradua
lly wi
thout excesses.
7. Capillarization impu
lse: increase the intensity gradua
lly
to produce constant,
visibl
e
stimulati
on of the area treated; a medium stimulation threshold is recommended, always
below the pain threshold.

The product

WARNING!
It must be remembered that an electronic stimulator is a very effective analge

T

ad

before using T-ONE
.
REMEMBER THAT PAIN IS A SIGN:
consult a doctor to identify the med
ical c
ondition before using T-ONE!
TENS, an acronym standing for “transcutaneous elect
rical
nerve stimulation”, is a therapeutic
technique mainly used for analge
sic
purposes to counter the effects (usua
lly
pain) of a wide
variety
of medical conditions. For this purpose it finds app
licati
on in treating everyday a
ilm
ents
troubling mankind: neck pain, arthro
sis, myalgi
a, neuritis, back pain, periarthritis, heaviness in
legs, muscle weakness, jus
t to mention a few.
O
n an acade
mic level, TENS can be d
ivi
ded into various categories according to the
mec
han
ism
used to reduce the pain. The main types are: conventional TENS (or
fast
analge
sic)
, electro acupuncture training TENS (or
delayed analge
sic), TENS at ma
ximum
values wi
th antidro
mic acti
on and consequently an
immedi
ate local anaesthetic effect.
T
he rehab
ili
tative action of TENS is repres
ented by its power to reduce pain thereby restoring
ph
ysiological c
onditions; more often than not this allows the patient to regain normal motor
function. Consider a patient suffering from
irri
tating periarthritis; they either resort to using
analge
sics
or learn to
live wi
th the pain that often makes even the
simplest movem

impossibl
e. Immob
ility r
educes metabo
lic
act
ivity maki
ng it impo
ssibl

vicious circl
e begins. In addition to relieving pain, TENS causes i
nduced
muscle stimulati
on increasing metabo
lic
act
ivity
and blood flow and improving t
iss
ue oxygenation with an intake of nutritional substances. So the positive effect can be amplified by combini
ng TENS wi
th mu
scle stimulati
on of the area concerned.
Position of electrodes and intensity levels.
T
he electrodes should be positioned to form a square surrounding the painful area using
C
hannel 1 and Channel 2 as shown in
illustrati
on 1. The intensity should be adjusted to a level
between the thresholds of perception and pain: the ma
ximum i
ntensity level is the moment in
whic
h the mu
scles surr
ounding the area treated begin to contract; over this
limit stimulati
on does not become more effective, just more
irri
tating, so it is best to stop before that point.

We s

This
program significantly increases arterial flow in the area treated. Prol

program develops the intramuscular cap

network of fast-twitch fibres. The effect obtained
is
an increase in the capacity of fast-twitch fibres to withstand strain over extended periods of time. For
an athlete with good re
