When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should also be followed including
the following:

• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

• Always use on a at heat resistant surface.

• When in use electric sterilizer contains hot water and steam.

• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other
hot liquids.

• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles and knobs.

• Always keep the electric sterilizer and its plug out of reach of small children

• Before plugging in the electric sterilizer for the rst time ensure the voltage is compatible
with your electricity supply by checking the label on the base of the unit

• Always attach plug to appliance rst, then plug into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn
any control “o”, then remove plug from wall outlet.

• Ensure water has been added to the base unit before switching the unit on.

• Always add 2.7  .oz / 80ml of water before use. If you put too little or too much water
into the sterilizer it will not operate correctly.

• Always unplug from the electric outlet when not in use. Allow to cool before putting on or
taking o any parts.

• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

• The product has been tted with a cord wind on the base of the unit to allow you to adjust
the length of the cord safely. It is recommended that the chord be kept as short as possible.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. User maintainance other than cleaning
or descaling is not required for this product. Return appliance to the nearest authorized
service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.

• The use of accessory attachments is not recommended by the appliance manutacturer as
this may cause injuries.

• Do not use appliance for anything other than intended use.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.

• Do not open whilst in use as this product contains boiling water. Beware of escaping
steam from the vent holes in the lid.

• Always allow at least 3 minutes cooling time before opening.

• Take care when lifting the sterilizer lid after use to avoid scalding.

• Keep all components out of reach of children.

• Never place items on top of the sterilizer.

• User maintenance, other than cleaning and de-scaling, is not required for this product.

• Other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

• A short power-supply cord should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a long cord

• Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if
care is exercised in their use

• If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:

1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance;

2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

• If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type
3-wire cord.

Before using your closer to nature steam sterilizer, please ensure that you
read all instructions thoroughly. Please save this instruction sheet for future
reference as it includes important information.
This sterilizer is designed for use with tommee tippee® closer to nature®
bottles and feeding accessories (except bottle brush). The sterilizer will hold
up to 6 closer to nature® bottles, plus accessories.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING UP YOUR STERILIZER BEFORE FIRST USE:
Do not connect to power at this stage.
Remove all items from inside the sterilizer base.
Pour exactly 2.7 fl.oz / 80ml of water into the sterilizer base.
Your closer to nature® bottles have a handy measure.
Assemble the white lower tray (A), central stem (C) and upper tray (B) and
place in the sterilizer base.
Add the lid.
Plug the electric cord into your electric outlet. The start switch and
sterilizing light should come on automatically. If it does not then press the
switch and it will light up amber to show that sterilizing has begun.
The light will switch off when sterilizing has finished.
Allow to cool for 3 minutes before unplugging.
Remove lower tray, central stem and upper tray, pour away any remaining
water and wipe dry. Your sterilizer is now ready for use.

USING THE ELECTRIC STEAM STERILIZER
Preheating of the appliance is not necessary.
Before sterilization, wash all bottles and feeding accessories in warm soapy
water or in a dishwasher (top rack only) to remove any milk residues.
Separate all components for washing and reassemble nipple and screw ring
for sterilizing.

WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH OIL

BASED FOODS (e.g. OIL/TOMATO BASED SAUCES) AS STAINING WILL OCCUR.

PROBLEM CHECK

Sterilizer will not work Check the electrical cord is plugged into the unit and

the electrical outlet is switched on.
Check the electrical outlet by plugging in another
appliance.

Excessive steam

Items incorrectly loaded in sterilizer. Refer to
Instructions for Use.

Bottles come out with mark

Sterilizer needs descaling. Refer to Cleaning Instructions.

Cycle takes too long to complete

Too much water in sterilizer. Use exactly 2.7 fl.oz / 80ml

Remove the sterilized items. The teat tongs can be used to
remove the small items. The lid when removed and placed flat
becomes another hygienic work surface for making up feeds.

Place the lid onto the sterilizer base.
Plug in and switch on.
Press the start switch and it will light up amber. This shows that sterilizing
has begun.
The light will switch off when sterilizing has finished.
Allow to cool for 3 minutes before opening the sterilizer.
The contents will remain sterile for 24 hours if the sterilizer is unopened.
Wash your hands thoroughly before handling sterilized items. Take care as
the items will be hot.

Drain and rinse unit to prevent a build up of limescale.

PROBLEM SOLVING

CLEANING YOUR ELECTRIC STERILIZER

After each use, unplug and allow to cool before cleaning. Pour away any excess water and
wipe with a damp cloth only. Do not clean with abrasive cleaners or allow to come into
contact with solvents or harsh chemicals, damage could result.

DE-SCALING
De-scale your electric sterilizer every 4 weeks to ensure it continues to work efficiently.
To descale your electric sterilizer:

1. Empty the electric sterilizer and wipe down the inside with a sponge or damp cloth.

2. Pour in 1 cup of white vinegar.

3. Turn sterilizer on and run for 5 minutes.

4. Unplug the unit and let cool, then pour any remaining liquid down the sink. Rinse the
interior of the sterilizer well with cool water and use a clean sponge or damp cloth to
remove any buildup that came loose as a result of the descaling / cleaning process.

5. Plug unit back in and add regular amounts of water you use for normal warming. Turn
on and run for 5 minutes to remove any additional build up. Upon completion, rinse
sterilizer again and use as directed.

• No lo coloque sobre quemadores de gas o eléctricos calientes ni cerca de ellos, ni en un
horno caliente.

• No deberá utilizarse en exteriores.

• Utilice siempre el esterilizador sobre una supercie plana y resistente al calor.

• Cuando está en uso, el esterilizador contiene agua caliente.

• Debe tener sumo cuidado cuando mueva un aparato que contenga aceite u otros líquidos
calientes.

• No toque las supercies calientes; use las asas y los botones.

• Mantenga siempre el esterilizador y su enchufe fuera del alcance de los niños pequeños.

• Antes de enchufar el esterilizador por primera vez, compruebe que el voltaje sea compatible
con su suministro eléctrico. Para esto compruebe la etiqueta de la base del aparato.

• Siempre coloque el enchufe primero en el aparato y luego enchúfelo en el
tomacorriente de la pared. Para desconectarlo, apague los controles (posición “o”) y luego
desenchufe del tomacorriente de la pared.

•

Introduzca siempre el biberón o tarrito de comida en el esterilizador antes de añadir el agua.

• Asegúrese de que se haya añadido el agua antes de encender el aparato.

• Desenchufe siempre del tomacorriente cuando no lo use y antes de limpiarlo. Déjelo enfriar
antes de encenderlo o de quitarle componentes.

• Es necesario vigilar minuciosamente cuando se usa un aparato con niños o cerca de ellos.

• El calentador presenta en la base un dispositivo para enrollar el cable que le permite ajustar
su longitud de forma segura. Le recomendamos que mantenga el cable lo más corto
posible.

• No deje que el cable sobresalga colgando del borde de la mesa o mesada ni que toque
supercies calientes.

• No use ningún aparato cuyo cable o enchufe estén dañados o si el aparato ha tenido un
desperfecto o si se ha dañado de algún modo. Envíe el aparato al centro autorizado de
servicios más próximo para que lo examinen, arreglen o ajusten.

• El fabricante del aparato recomienda no usar dispositivos accesorios ya que podrían causar
heridas.

• No use el aparato para ninguna aplicación que no sea la prevista.

• Este aparato no es apto para ser usado por personas (incluyéndose a los niños) que tengan
alguna disminución de las capacidades físicas, sensoriales o mentales, o que carezcan de la
experiencia y los conocimientos necesarios, a no ser que sean supervisadas por una persona
responsable de su seguridad o que tal persona les enseñe cómo usarlo.

• Una vez que la leche o la comida hayan alcanzado la temperatura deseada, sáquelas
inmediatamente. Si las deja en el esterilizador, la temperatura de la leche o la comida
seguirá aumentando.

• Este producto no requiere mantenimiento especial por parte del usuario, a no ser por la
limpieza y eliminación de sarro.

Lea estas instrucciones atentamente antes de usar el esterilizador closer to nature.

información importante. Este esterilizador está concebido para ser usado con biberones
y accesorios de alimentación tommee tippee® closer to nature® (excepto el cepillo de

INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES PARA LA PREPARACIÓN DEL ESTERILIZADOR ANTES DE
USARLO:
No lo enchufe en la alimentación eléctrica todavía.
Quite todos los objetos que haya en el interior de la base del esterilizador.

Vierta exactamente 80 ml de agua en la base del esterilizador. Sus biberones
closer to nature® tienen un medidor que le será útil para tal fin.
Arme la bandeja inferior blanca (A), la varilla central (C) y la bandeja
superior (B) y colóquelas en la base del esterilizador.
Agregue la tapa.
Enchufe el cable en el tomacorrientes. El botón de encendido y la luz
indicadora de esterilización se encenderán automáticamente. De no ser así,
pulse el botón y notará que se enciende de color ámbar para indicar que ha
comenzado la esterilización.
La luz se apagará cuando haya terminado la esterilización.
Deje enfriar durante 3 minutos.
Quite la bandeja inferior, la varilla central y la bandeja superior, tire el agua
que pueda haber quedado y seque el aparato con un trapo. El esterilizador
ya está listo para ser usado.

USO DEL ESTERILIZADOR A VAPOR ELÉCTRICO

Antes de empezar la esterilización, lave los biberones y los demás utensilios
de la comida con agua jabonosa templada o en un lavaplatos (sólo en la parte de
arriba) para eliminar los residuos de leche. Separe todos los componentes para
que se laven y vuelva a armar la rosca de la tetina que va a esterilizar.
ADVERTENCIA: NO PERMITA QUE EL PRODUCTO ENTRE EN CONTACTO CON
ALIMENTOS CON UNA BASE DE ACEITE (POR EJEMPLO, SALSAS CON UNA
BASE DE ACEITE/TOMATE) YA QUE PUEDEN MANCHARLO.

PROBLEMA COMPROBACIÓN

El esterilizador no funciona

Compruebe que el cable eléctrico esté enchufado en la
unidad y que el tomacorriente esté encendido (si
corresponde). Compruebe el funcionamiento del
tomacorriente enchufando otro aparato.

Demasiado vapor

Objetos cargados incorrectamente en el esterilizador.

Los biberones salen con una
marca

Extraiga los objetos esterilizados. Puede usar las pinzas de
las tetinas para extraer los objetos pequeños. Al quitar la
tapa y colocarla de forma plana, puede usarla como
superficie de trabajo higiénica para preparar el biberón.

Ponga la tapa sobre la base del esterilizador.
Enchufe el aparato y enciéndalo.
Pulse el botón de encendido y se iluminará de color ámbar, indicando que
la esterilización ha comenzado.
La luz se apagará cuando haya terminado la esterilización.
Antes de abrir el esterilizador, déjelo enfriar durante 3 minutos.
Si el esterilizador se deja cerrado, el contenido permanecerá estéril durante
24 horas.
Lávese las manos con abundante agua antes de tocar los objetos
esterilizados. Tenga cuidado porque los objetos estarán calientes.

Escurra y enjuague la unidad para que evitar la acumulación de cal.

INSTRUCCIONES PARA LA LIMPIEZA

• Después de cada uso, tire el agua que pueda haber quedado en la base del
esterilizador.

• Se recomienda que elimine el sarro del esterilizador cada 4 semanas para
garantizar que siga funcionando correctamente.
Para eliminar el sarro de su esterilizador eléctrico:

1. Vacíe el esterilizador y seque el interior con una esponja o trapo húmedos.

2. Agregue 1 taza de vinagre blanco.

3. Encienda el esterilizador y déjelo andando durante 5 minutos.

4. Desenchufe la unidad y déjela enfriar; a continuación tire en el lavatrastos
el líquido que pueda haber quedado.

5. Enjuague bien el interior del esterilizador con agua fría y use una esponja o
trapo húmedos limpios para eliminar el sarro que pueda soltarse como
consecuencia del proceso de eliminación del sarro o la limpieza.
Vuelva a enchufar la unidad y agregue la cantidad de agua que usa
normalmente para esterilizar los biberones. Encienda la unidad y déjela
andando durante 5 minutos para eliminar el sarro que pudiera quedar. Una
vez terminado, vuelva a enjuagar elesterilizador y úselo de acuerdo con las
instrucciones habituales.

• La placa caliente puede dañarse fácilmente y debe ser tratada con cuidado.

• No utilice objetos metálicos ni lana de acero.

• No utilice cloro blanqueador ni soluciones o tabletas de esterilización
química en el esterilizador ni en los productos que desea esterilizar.

• No utilice materiales abrasivos ni antibacterianos para limpiar el
esterilizador.
