IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances especially when children are present, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of re, electric shock, and/or
injury to persons, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Metal parts can become hot. Use any handles or knobs.
All chrome surfaces become extremely hot.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
6. Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted into a toaster
as they may involve a risk of re or electrical shock.
7. A re may occur if toasters are covered or touching ammable material including
curtains, draperies, walls and the like, when in operation.
8. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning, putting on or removing parts.
9. Do not pull, twist or otherwise abuse cord.
10. Clean out accumulated crumbs frequently to avoid risk of re or toaster malfunction.
Unplug while not in use and before cleaning.
11. Do not operate any electrical appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
12. Do not let power cord hang over edge of a table or countertop (where it can be accidentally pulled) or touch any hot surface.
13. Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes.
14. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other
hot liquids.
15. Never operate any appliance on top of a non-heat-resistant or ammable surface.
16. Never leave appliance unattended when in use.
17. Do not place appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven
or microwave.
18. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual.

may cause re, electric shock or injury.
20. Do not use foods that will drip coatings or llings when heated. Such accumulations inside the toaster create unsanitary conditions and the possibility of re or toaster
malfunction.
21. To disconnect, cancel the toasting cycle and unplug from wall outlet

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PRODUCT MAY VARY SLIGHTLY FROM ILLUSTRATIONS
This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into an AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.
CORD PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the
risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t into the outlet, reverse the plug and try again. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least
as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
4
LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it rmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced.
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
IMPORTANT
During the rst few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke and/or a slight odor.
This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been used a few more times.
USING YOUR TOASTER
Solid surface countertops can be easily scratched, cracked, scorched, or damaged, especially when exposed to heat. To prevent damage, the following precautions should be observed when using this product:
Always use a trivet under heat generating sources such as Slow Cookers, Toaster Ovens, Skillets, or any other Kitchen Appliance.
Before use remove any packing materials and wipe the body of your toaster with a damp cloth. Ensure that before plugging the toaster into the outlet, the bread carriage lever is in the uppermost position. Plug the cord into a 120 volt, 60 HZ AC outlet. Position toaster at least 3 inches away from wall or rear of counter.
Let the rst toasting process take place without inserting any bread to preheat the new
elements and burn off any residue.
Select the desired level of darkness by turning the “1-6” light/dark knob on the front panel
of the toaster to the right for darker toast and to the left for lighter toast. Your selection should vary based on the moisture content, thickness of bread, whether fresh or frozen and your darkness preference. Next, place bread in slot and depress bread carriage lever downwards until it locks. Carriage lever will not stay down if toaster is not plugged in. The self-adjusting bread guides will automatically center the bread for browning. If using the FROZEN or BAGEL function buttons, press the selected button at this time. After the desired level of darkness has been reached, the bread will pop up automatically and is ready for removal from the slots. The bread carriage will return to its original position and disconnect the elements, ready for the next toasting. To remove toast, press up on the bread carriage lever to lift toast out of the bread slots. To remove jammed toast, unplug toaster and remove bread once toaster has cooled
down. Never insert ngers or metallic utensils into slots.
5
DO NOT WRAP THE CORD AROUND THE MAIN BODY OF APPLIANCE DURING OR AFTER USE.
USEFUL HINTS
Cancel: To interrupt the toasting cycle, press in on the ADJUSTABLE BROWNING DIAL. This will stop the toasting cycle and the toaster foods will pop up (and the toaster will switch off). Most types of breads and pastries can be toasted, such as bagels, tea cakes, thick sliced
breads, English mufns, wafes, etc. Slices should not, however, be so thick as to cause
burning or jamming in the bread slots. Do NOT force the carriage up manually to cancel the toasting cycle. This may cause damage to the toaster.
CARE AND CLEANING
After use and before cleaning, unplug wall plug and wait for toaster to cool. Wipe the outside of toaster with a damp cloth and dry with another cloth or paper towel. Do not use abrasive cleaners. To avoid damage to toaster heating elements, do not use any pointed or sharp articles for cleaning the inside of the toaster.
Attention: Empty the crumb tray frequently. Crumbs will accumulate in the crumb tray
and could catch re if not emptied periodically. When the toaster has cooled down
completely, tap the sides of the toaster lightly to dislodge any crumbs caught in the toaster chamber and open the crumb tray over your sink. Tap sides again to ensure proper disposal. Secure crumb tray in locked position.
