Important: READ RULE FOR SAFE INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.
Handlin
1. The speaker system is rainproofed for outdoor applications. However, do not dash water intentionally over unit f o r the cleaning purpose as this can cause damage to the internal speaker components.
2. Do not loosen any fixing screws of this speaker for disassembly or modification. This impairs the speaker's rainproof capability, involving a risk of accidents or breakdowns.
3. Sea breezes shorten the life of this speaker. Do not install the speaker in the seaside areas.
4. Toa can accept no responsibility f or accidents or unit's breakdowns resulting from improper installations or disassemblies or modifications performed for purposes other than legitimate maintenance or repair services.
Features
1. Rain- and weather-proof construction that makes the speaker most ideal for outdoor applications.
2. 2-way, sealed speaker incorporating a woofer with high power handling capacity and a constant-
directivity (CD) horn tweeter with a high-efficiency driv-
er.
3. Uniform frequency response within the range of 60° horizontal × 40° vertical thanks to the CD horn.
4. Enclosure is made from polypropylene resin that assures high sound performance.
5. Designed f o r high efficiency, extended range and high durability as well as for easy installation, the speaker can be used in wide applications.

Installation
1. To avoid breakdowns, we suggest that you install the
speaker in the areas where the ambient temperature is
fr om -15°C to +50°C. In snowy areas, protect unit
from the snow.
2. When installing the speaker, use the optional mounting bracket fo r outdoo r installation. Also, take care about
the following:
(1)The bottom surface of the speaker has two air
vents and one drain hole. Be sure to mount the speaker with that side down, taking care that such holes are not blocked. (The drain hole is f o r drain-
age of rainwater that enters the horn.)
1. Polarity When connecting the speaker, observe the polarity
shown in the figure below.
2.
Impedance

The speaker input impedance can be switched in 4 steps with a built-in selector. See the table below.
The impedance is factory-pre s e t to position 3.

(2)As shown in the figure below, the speaker can be
positioned at any angle from 0° (horizontal) to a 45° downward angle. As this mounting range permits
free drainage of rainwater from the inside of the
speaker, do not exceed this range, nor direct the
speaker upward.

Overload protection device
The speaker is provided with individual overload protection devices f or woofer and tweeter. (When the woofer's device is activated, the woofer's output signal level is
attenuated by about 15 dB, while the tweeter is cut off if
the tweeter's device is activated.) If the sound volume of the woofer or tweeter suddenly decreases during use, this indicates that the protection devices have leaped into action. In such a case, lower the speaker input power level once first to wait till the protec t io n devices automati-
cally return to the normal condition (about 2 to 20
seconds). Af te r they are reset, use the speaker turning down the volume a little more than before.
