1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• Before installation or use, be sure to carefully read all
the instructions in this section for correct and safe
operation.

• Be sure to follow all the precautionary instructions in this
section, which contain important warnings and/or
cautions regarding safety.

• After reading, keep this manual handy for future
reference.

Safety Symbol and Message Conventions

Safety symbols and messages described below are used
in this manual to prevent bodily injury and property
damage which could result from mishandling. Before
operating your product, read this manual first and
understand the safety symbols and messages so you are
thoroughly aware of the potential safety hazards.

• Refer all installation work to the dealer from whom the
unit was purchased. Installation work requires extensive
technical knowledge and experience. The unit may fall
off if incorrectly installed, resulting in possible personal
injury.

• Install the unit only in a location that can structurally
support the weight of the unit and the mounting bracket.
Doing otherwise may result in the unit falling down and
causing personal injury and/or property damage.

• Use nuts and bolts that are appropriate for the ceiling's
or wall's material and structure. Tighten each nut and
bolt securely. Ensure that the bracket has no loose joints
after installation to prevent accidents that could result in
personal injury.

• Install the unit in locations exposed to ambient
temperatures ranging between -15°C and +50°C. When
installing the unit in the snowy area, take appropriate
measures to prevent snow from lying on the unit. If the
ambient temperature exceeds the permissible
temperature range (this may cause damage to the
speaker enclosure) or if the snow lies on the unit, the
unit may fall, causing personal injuries.

• Do not mount the unit in locations exposed to constant
vibration. The mounting bracket can be damaged by
excessive vibration, potentially causing the unit to fall,
which could result in personal injury.

• Avoid installing the unit in locations close to the
seashore, or in indoor swimming pools or bathrooms. In
such locations, the bracket may be vulnerable to
corrosion, eventually allowing the unit to fall resulting in
personal injury.

• Do not open the unit case nor modify the unit. As it
features splash-proof construction, do not loosen nor
remove screws other than those used to fix the blank
panel. When replacing the blank panel after installing the
matching transformer, check to be sure that all screws (6
places) are assembled with waterproof washers, and
securely tighten them. Failure to observe these
instructions may cause the unit to fall, resulting in
personal injuries.

• Avoid touching the unit's sharp metal edge to prevent
injury.

• Do not operate the unit for an extended period of time
with the sound distorting. This is an indication of a
malfunction, which in turn can cause heat to generate
and result in fire.

• Use only the specified matching transformer in
combination. Doing otherwise may cause the unit or the
matching transformer to heat, resulting in a fire.

• Have the unit checked periodically by the shop from
where it was purchased. Failure to do so may result in
corrosion or damage to the unit or its mounting bracket
that could cause it to fall, possibly causing personal
injury.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The ES-0422WP, ES-0424WP, and ES-0426WP are slim speaker systems (less than 16 cm in width) designed for
permanent outdoor installation.

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

The unit features splash-proof construction designed for outdoor installation. However, do not dash water over it
purposely to clean because its speaker element and other internal components may be damaged.

APPEARANCE

When installing the speaker, take care about the following:

• Two air vents are provided at the bottom surface. Be sure to install the speaker so that its air vents face downward. In
this event, take care not to block the air vents.

• As shown in the figure below, the speaker system can be positioned at any angle from 0° (horizontal) to 45° downward.
Do not exceed this range, nor direct the speaker system upward.

• Do not install the unit horizontally on its side.

WARNING

Although the unit features splash proof construction designed for permanent outdoor

INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS

• Matching transformer MT-S0601

To install the MT-S0601 Matching Transformer in the speaker system, remove the blank panel located at the back of the
speaker system. For the installation method, refer to the instruction manual attached to the MT-S0601 Matching
Transformer.

The unit can be mounted to a wall or pole using an optional YS-0421WL mounting bracket. For details, refer to the
instruction manual attached to the mounting bracket.

• Low frequency equalization by digital signal processors

When using TOA's digital processor, by setting its parameter as shown in the
table at right, low frequency characteristics can be corrected.

Do not open the unit case nor modify the unit. As it features splash-proof construction,
