General description

The TOA BS-20W is a splashproof type speaker system and incorpo­rates a 5.2 inch (13cm) woofer and a piezo driver unit with constant
directivity (CD) horn ensuring a uniform sound dispersion pattern (30°
horizontally and 90° vertically) especially for railway station platform
application.

Its sealed type of enclosure made of ABS resin and finished painting
for protection of ultraviolet rays assures splashproof capabilities, and
also its speaker unit is waterproof.
Applications include high humidity/temperature areas as well as out­doors or under the eaves where the speaker is likely to be exposed
to rain.

Installation

Dimensional diagram f or mounting the bracket

The speaker weight 8.0 Ibs. (3.6 kg).
If you fear that the ceiling or the beam will not stand the speaker weight, install the
speaker after fully supporting with reinforcement at installation places.

Changing the wattage (impedance)

Remove the waterproof cap at the side where the woofer is
attached.
Select the desired impedance (wattage) by rotating the rotary
switch with a flat head screwdriver.
After setting the impedance, be sure to replace the cap as it
keep's the speaker spla shproof.
(Any change in impedance maintains the s iren sound pressure
level 90dB/m or better.)

The BS-20W is factory-wired to 20 W
