You can also access the following Help information on your phone:

nPress the Menu key. Scroll to and select Settings and then scroll to and select Help.

nPress the Menu key. Scroll to and select Settings and then scroll to and select My Account.

View monthly usage, bill summary, and other account information right on your phone.

Service ACTIVATION

If you are a new T-Mobile customer and your service has not been activated, simply call Customer Care at 1-800-937- 8997 from your landline phone and a T-Mobile Activations representative will assist you.

You will need the following information when activating service:

nService Agreement and agent code on your Agreement

nYour name, home address, home phone, and billing address

NOTE: For business and government accounts, please provide the name of your company or government agency, address, and tax ID.

nYour Social Security number, current driver’s license number, and date of birth for credit check purposes

nYour choice of T-Mobile rate plan and services (see www.t-mobile.com for latest plan information)

nSIM serial number and IMEI number (located on the box bar code label)

Typing Tips

Your phone supports four text modes.

nABC mode: This mode allows you to enter letters by pressing the key with the corresponding letter.

nT9® mode: This mode allows you to enter words with only one press per letter. T9 compares your key presses with an internal dictionary to determine the most likely word.

nNumber mode: This mode allows you to enter numbers.

nSymbol mode: This mode allows you to enter symbols, such as punctuation marks.

ALT key

Press to enter the second level character on a key.

Symbol key

Press to open the symbol menu.

Emoticon key

Press to enter a smiley face.

Space key

Press to enter a space or press and hold to turn

vibrate mode on/off.

sim card

Your Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card identifies you to the wireless network. Your phone will not work without the SIM card.

To insert the SIM card and battery:

1.Detach your SIM card.

2.Press and slide the back battery cover away from the phone in the direction indicated by the arrow.

3.Slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner facing out of the slot.

4.Align the gold contacts on the battery with the contacts in the battery compartment. Push the battery into place and replace the battery cover.

Power

To turn on the phone, press and hold the red End key. To turn off phone, press and hold the red End key.

Memory card

Your phone does not ship with a microSD memory card but you can purchase one to store multimedia files, such as video clips, music tracks, sound files, images, and messaging data.

Install or remove the memory card

Pictures, videos, and music files are saved to the memory card by default, when installed.

1.Open the memory card slot cover on the left side of your phone.

2.Slide the memory card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down and press until the card clicks into place.

3.Close the slot cover.

To remove the memory card, gently press the card into the slot until it clicks. Release the card and it will pop out slightly. Gently slide the card out of the memory card slot and close the slot cover.

Battery

Charge using a wall outlet

Plug the small end of the AC adapter into the Power port on the right side of your phone. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet.

Tips for conserving battery life

Turn off Bluetooth®

1.At the Home screen, select Menu.

2.Select Settings.

3.Select Bluetooth.

4.Select Turn Bluetooth off.

Reduce the backlight brightness

1.At the Home screen, select Menu.

2.Select Settings.

3.Select Personalize.

4.Select Display settings.

5.Select Brightness.

6.Press the Navigation key right or left to the desired setting.

7.Select Save.

Shorten backlight timeout

1.At the Home screen, select Menu.

2.Select Settings.

3.Select Personalize.

4.Select Display settings.

5.Select Backlight time.

6.Select On and select the desired timeout setting.

7.Select Dim and select the desired dim setting.

8.Select Save.

Call Functions

Make a call

1.Slide open the phone.

2.Enter the phone number.

3.Press the green Send key .

Answer a call

Slide open the phone.

If the phone is already open, press the green Send key .

End a call

Slide the phone closed or press the red End key .

Use mute and speakerphone

While on a call, select Mute or Spkr on.

To turn off, select Unmute or Spkr off.

Volume

Adjust call volume

While on an active call, press the Volume keys up or down.

Adjust ringer volume

At the Home screen, press the Volume keys up or down.

Adjust ringtone profile volume

1.At the Home screen, select Menu.

2.Select Settings.

3.Select Personalize.

4.Select Sound profiles.

5.Scroll to the profile you want to edit and select Options.

6.Select Edit.

7.While on the Phone tab, scroll to Ringtone volume and select Edit.

8.Press the Navigation key right or left to the desired volume.

9.Select OK.

10.Select Options and then select Save.

Adjust speaker volume

While speaker is activated, press the Volume keys up or down.

Adjust media volume

While a video is playing, press the Volume keys up or down.

Voicemail

Use voicemail

To set up voicemail, press and hold the 1 key. Follow the tutorial to finish setting up voicemail.

To reset the password to the last four digits of your phone number, enter #793# and press the green Send key.

To call voicemail, press and hold the 1 key.

Use Visual Voicemail

With Visual Voicemail you can play and replay messages in any order, save voice messages to your phone, choose how you want to respond to messages, share special audio messages

using e-mail, and create personalized greetings.

Set up Visual Voicemail

1.At the Home screen, select Menu.

2.Select Messaging.

3.Select Voicemail.

4.Select Yes to activate and set up. If you are activating

Visual Voicemail for the first time, continue with step 5.

5.Scroll to Full greeting and select Record.

NOTE: You can also select Name only or Standard greeting.

6.Press the Center Select key to select Record.

7.Select OK when done.

8.Select Save.

9.At Old, enter your current voicemail PIN.

NOTE: The default PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

10.At New, enter a new voicemail PIN.

11.At Confirm, re-enter the new voicemail PIN.

12.Select Save.

Check Visual Voicemail

1.When you receive a new voicemail, you will see an alert on your Home screen.

2.Select Open.

3.Scroll to the desired message and select Open.

4.Select Play.

Reply to a Visual Voicemail

1.At the Home screen, select Menu.

2.Select Messaging.

3.Select Voicemail.

4.Select the desired message.

5.Select Options > Reply.

Messaging Shortcut key

You can set your shortcut key to open your favorite or most used application. To set the key:

1.Press the Messaging key.

2.Select OK.

3.Scroll to the messaging feature you want the key to open.

4.Select Assign.

5.Select OK.

Contacts

About Mobile Backup

Mobile Backup is a free service that lets you store contact information on your phone and on www.my.t-mobile.com. You can manage contacts on your phone or on the Web and the changes are synchronized. With Mobile Backup, you don’t have to worry about losing your contact information if you lose your phone.

You may choose to not use this feature but your address book may be backed up in order to deliver certain services. See the FAQ section on www.my.t-mobile.com for details.
