Carry multiple DMX512 universes over a single CAT5e cable!
Custom Break-in and Break-out assemblies easily convert four DMX lines to a single
Neutrik EtherCon connector. The snake itself is just a single ProPlex CAT5e cable!

Standard 4-Universe Sneak Snake

2- and 3-universe versions offer fewer universes but deliver unprecedented flexibility in cabling DMX over CAT5. In addition to
running two or three universes to FOH over an ultra-tough ProPlex CAT5e cable, the break-in and break-out assemblies can be
utilized with other cabling options:
Premise wiring – Lecture halls, ballrooms, and corporate buildings. Run your console over CAT5 or CAT5e premise wiring! Use
any UTP CAT5 cable to get from a wall jack in one room to control DMX devices in another room. (Make sure that the circuits
are patched directly to each other in the patchbay and not to any Ethernet equipment. Lengths of 1,000ft are possible. In
practical terms, a maximum length of 500ft/150Meters is recommended.)
Emergency backup cable – We all know the danger of heavy vehicles near FOH snakes. Even a ProPlex cable can succumb to a
bulldozer. Since the cable is a reasonably priced single ProPlex CAT5e, you can afford to have a spare. Or if you’re really in a
pinch, you could go to the nearest office supply store and find something to get you through the show.
