TITAN ALARM PANEL
INTRODUCTION
The TITAN Alarm Panel is part of a unique lighting / security system for home or business use. The unit is designed to protect your property, serving as a basic alarm system and also with the addition of a TITAN Bell Push Transmitter a door chime unit. In addition to the bell push the TITAN alarm panel is compatible with the TITAN wireless PIR Detector and wireless Magnetic Contact Detector. In alarm mode when triggered by the latter two transmitters the 110 decibel siren will sound. The Bell Push will trigger a chime alert when in chime mode.
Note: Please read this entire manual before you start to install the system.
LOADING THE BATTERIES
The unit requires four AA size batteries. To install the batteries:
1. Open the battery cover. (FIGURE 1)
2. Insert four AA batteries ensuring correct polarity.
3. Refit the battery cover.
If during use the Low Battery LED flashes every three seconds, the batteries need to be replaced. Average battery life for typical usage is six months, subject to alkaline batteries being used.
CHOOSING A MOUNTING LOCATION
l DO NOT fix the unit onto metalwork or within 1m of metalwork (i.e. radiator, water pipes etc) as this could affect the receipt
of signals from TITAN transmitters.
l DO NOT locate the unit directly above a heat source (e.g. fire, radiator, boiler etc). l DO NOT expose the unit to the weather or liquids. The unit is not weather proof.
Consider the following points when choosing a mounting location. Locate the unit:
1) Within a protected area when the system is set, i.e. an intruder should not be able to reach the unit without a transmitter detector being triggered.
2) In a position where it is not visible from external doors or windows.
3) In an easily accessible position between 1.5m and 2.0m above floor level.
The unit should be fixed using two screws 50mm apart. The screw heads should be left proud to allow the unit to be attached using the two keyhole slots at the rear of the unit.
FIRST TIME POWER UP
The unit is capable of holding up to twelve TITAN transmitter codes. On first time power up no codes will be stored. To indicate this the Status LED will flash on and off every three seconds.
The factory default 4-digit security code is set to 1234 (Note that if the batteries are removed or allowed to run flat the unit will default back to the factory 4-digit security code of 1234).
It is important to change the factory 4-digit security code of 1234 to your own personal code. To do this proceed as follows:
1) Key in the factory 4-digit security code 1234
2) Press key 6
3) Enter your new personal 4-digit code (using any combination of keys 0 to 9)
4) Press key 6 again
Your personal 4-digit code is now set and should be used for any further actions. (Note this process must be completed within 15 seconds. If you make a mistake or run out of time the unit will revert back to the factory 4-digit security code 1234).
