Your Timex watch featuring the INDIGLO night-light contains a patented electroluminescent technology (U.S. Patent Number 4,527,096). The INDIGLO night­light illuminates the entire watch lens with a uniform bright light that offers superior readability in all low light and nighttime conditions. Simply press the INDIGLO night­light button to activate.

Your Timex watch is equipped with the NIGHT-MODE option. This Timex patented feature (U.S. Patent Number 4,912,688) enhances the benefits of the INDIGLO light. Once activated, any button pushed will cause the INDIGLO night-light to stay on for 3 seconds. The NIGHT-MODE option is activated by pressing and holding the INDIGLO night-light button for 3 seconds. NIGHT-MODE will stay activated for 3 hours or until you deactivate it by pressing and holding the INDIGLO night-light button again for 3 seconds.
NOTE: The NIGHT-MODE option can be activated in all modes at any time. EXAMPLE: With the NIGHT-MODE option activated and the chronograph running in low
light conditions, press the LAP/RESET button. At this time the INDIGLO night-light will automatically stay on for 3 seconds, allowing you to read the lap/split times...all with one simple push of a button.
Your watch is water-resistant, and it will be indicated the caseback.

SECTION 4 – GENERAL OPERATION/FEATURES
First acquaint yourself with the location of the five buttons that operate the watch. These buttons are referred to throughout this instruction booklet.

• From NORMAL TIME press LAP/RESET to see SECOND TIME ZONE time and date (T2 will appear where "seconds" are in NORMAL TIME).
• From NORMAL TIME press MODE to select the CHRONOGRAPH (STOPWATCH) function. The chronograph features three format choices to display information:
1. Lap Time and Split Time
2. Lap Time and Lap Number
3. Lap Time and Split Time/Lap Number (Alternating)
50-lap memory and recall includes best lap, first and second place times and a 99 lap counter.
• From CHRONOGRAPH press MODE to select the ALARM function. The ALARM features a 24 hour alarm settable to either of two time zones. Alarm display appears when the alarm sound becomes active. Alarm has single 5 minute automatic backup.
• From ALARM, press MODE to select the COUNTDOWN TIMER function. The Countdown Timer features three separate modes of operation:
1. Countdown and stop.
2. Countdown and repeat.
3. Countdown and then countup in the CHRONOGRAPH mode (Auto-Start).
OTHER FEATURES
• 12 or 24 Hour format in either or both time zones.
• Automatic calendar adjustment for all months except for February during leap years.
• Hourly Chime - Beeps on the hour, and when activated, all other button pushes are audible, except when NIGHT-MODE always audible.)
• Large, easy-to-operate top-mounted push buttons. These buttons are also textured for non-slip use.

SECTION 5 – SETTING TIME/CALENDAR
From NORMAL TIME or SECOND TIME ZONE, press and hold RECALL/SET firmly. After a 2 second delay, the TIME display will return with the seconds flashing. NOTE: If you are in SECOND TIME ZONE (T2), hours will flash and T2 will appear where seconds were prior to holding RECALL/SET button. A. Press LAP/RESET to select T1 or T2. Press MODE or START/STOP to proceed to
setting seconds.
B. Press LAP/RESET to adjust seconds. Each push of LAP/RESET will reset seconds
to zero.
C. Press MODE or START/STOP to select HOURS, press LAP/RESET to adjust HOURS. D. Press MODE or START/STOP to select MINUTES, press LAP/RESET to adjust
MINUTES.
E. Press MODE or START/STOP to select MONTH, press LAP/RESET to adjust MONTH. F. Press MODE or START/STOP to select DATE, press LAP/RESET to adjust DATE. G. Press MODE or START/STOP to select DAY OF WEEK, press LAP/RESET to adjust
DAY OF WEEK.
H. Press MODE or START/STOP to select 12/24 hour, press LAP/RESET to select 12 or
24 hour format.
This sequence can be repeated until the display is returned to NORMAL TIME or by pressing RECALL/SET to exit from the Set mode.
SECOND TIME ZONE OPERATION A. While in NORMAL TIME mode, press LAP/RESET to view
SECOND TIME ZONE time (T2). The T2 will be flashing to indicate the displayed time zone.
B. To have the SECOND TIME ZONE be the primary display, press
and hold LAP/RESET until a beep is heard. This indicates that the two time zone displays have changed places. The NORMAL TIME can now be viewed the same way that the second time zone was, when it was the alternate display.
SECTION 6 – HOW TO USE THE CHRONOGRAPH (STOPWATCH)
From NORMAL TIME press MODE once. You are now in CHRONOGRAPH mode. After displaying CHRONO for about 1 second the display will look like this:
You can now select the display format you wish to use by pressing LAP/RESET until the desired display appears.
The options are:
1. Lap Time/Split Time
2. Lap Time/Lap Number
3. Lap Time and Split Time/Lap Number (alternating). NOTES:
1. The display selection can only be made when the CHRONOGRAPH is stopped or reset.
2. If the words TIMER and CHRONO are alternating in the display, then the TIMER is
currently operating in the Countdown/Countup mode (CDC) and must first be reset before the Chronograph mode will operate. See Section 8 to deactivate the timer.
STANDARD CHRONOGRAPH OPERATION A. Press START/STOP to begin timing.
B. Press START/STOP to Stop/Pause. (CHR) will appear on the line between upper and
lower display.
C. Press START/STOP to resume timing.OR, D. Press and hold LAP/RESET to reset display to zero.
ADVANCED CHRONOGRAPH WITH LAP AND SPLIT FUNCTIONS AND MEMORY RECALL OF 50 READINGS
A. Press RECALL/SET to select display format (3 options). B. Press START/STOP to start timing. C. Press LAP/RESET to take the first LAP reading and place it into memory. After 10
seconds the display will be released and the second lap time will appear, or if LAP/RESET is pressed again prior to the display being released, then a second lap time will be displayed. (CHR) will appear flashing on the line between the upper and lower display.
NOTE: Press MODE to release the display before 10 seconds have elapsed to show the
current running lap time.

D. Continue to press LAP/RESET to take more lap time readings. The last 50 readings
will be stored in memory and can be recalled at any time during a timing sequence or after it has been completed.
E. To review the times stored in memory, press RECALL/SET button. The best LAP
reading will be the first one to be displayed and further presses of RECALL/SET button will first display the reading prior to the one presently being performed and then in descending order to the first reading or the first of the last 50 if more than 50 lap readings have been taken. To view the split time, as of the lap number being displayed, press the LAP/RESET button. To review the next lap time, press the
RECALL/SET button.
F. To reset the chronograph, it must first be stopped, then press
LAP/RESET and hold it for 2 seconds. The menu display will
remain on until the reset has been accomplished.
G. At this time the memory can still be recalled, but now the laps
will be recalled in ascending order. The memory will be retained for your reference until a new timing sequence is started.
NOTE: The chronograph times will be displayed with 1/100 second resolution up to one hour then in 1 second resolution up to 100 hours.
QUICK PEEK - Press START/STOP to view the CHRONOGRAPH status while in NORMAL TIME mode.
CHRONOGRAPH (STOPWATCH) OPERATION EXAMPLE
• Press MODE to enter CHRONOGRAPH mode.
• Press LAP/RESET button to select one of the three display format choices for the chronograph: 1. Lap/Split Time, 2. Lap Time/Number, 3. Lap Time and Split Time/Lap Number (alternating). Chronograph must be stopped to make selection.
• Press START/STOP to start chronograph.
• Press LAP/RESET once to take ten lap readings (10 sec. auto release of lap time).
• At end of last lap press STOP.
• To recall lap times press RECALL/SET button (you may also recall while chronograph is timing).
• Example of lap times:
1. 2.50.30 3. 2.70.30 5. 2.10.30 7. 2.40.30 9. 2.80.30
2. 2.70.30 4. 2.90.30 6. 2.30.30 8. 2.40.30 10. 3.00.30
• The first lap recalled will be the lap with the best time (Lap 5 in example)
• The second lap recalled will be the next to last lap stored in memory (Lap 9 in example).
• The third lap recalled will be the second to last (Lap 8 in example).
• Each press of RECALL/SET will recall laps in descending lap order (Lap 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2,
1..then repeat..best lap 5, Lap 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1).
• Press LAP/RESET to view last lap (Lap 10).
• Press and hold LAP/RESET again to reset chronograph to zero.
After resetting chronograph to zero, pressing RECALL/SET will recall laps in ascending order (in example best lap 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10)
NOTES:
1. To view split time during recall press LAP/RESET button.
2. While recalling before resetting chronograph, the best lap time, if it is actually the
last lap, will not appear as "best" lap during recall before resetting. However, after resetting the chronograph, the best lap time appears correctly.
3. The “last lap” is not recalled in sequence before resetting due to the pause feature
(stopping the chronograph and then restarting to continue to take more lap readings). The reason is that the "last" lap may not actually be complete, it may be a paused partial lap.
SECTION 7 – HOW TO SET/USE THE DAILY ALARM AND HOURLY CHIME
HOW TO SET THE ALARM
The alarm can be set in reference to either NORMAL TIME (T1) or SECOND TIME ZONE (T2). The alarm armed flag will only appear in the TIME display in which it is armed. A. Press MODE until ALARM
appears in the upper line of the display.
B. Wait for 1 second. C. Press RECALL/SET to begin
setting procedure. The T1 indicator (NORMAL TIME) will be flashing, press LAP/RESET to select either T1 or T2 as the referenced normal time.
D. Press MODE or START/STOP to select HOURS, press LAP/RESET to adjust hours.
Pay attention to the AM/PM indicator in the alarm display.
E. Press MODE or START/STOP to select TENS OF MINUTES, press LAP/RESET to
adjust TENS OF MINUTES.
F. Press MODE or START/STOP to select UNITS OF MINUTES, press LAP/RESET to
adjust UNITS OF MINUTES.
G. Press MODE or START/STOP to select AM/PM, press LAP/RESET to adjust AM/PM. H. Press RECALL/SET to exit from the alarm setting mode. Press MODE to return to
NORMAL TIME. The alarm is now set and armed, and will activate when the set time matches the time of day in the time zone to which it was referenced.
HOW TO ARM THE ALARM/HOURLY CHIME A. Press MODE until ALARM appears in the upper line of the display.
B. Wait 1 second for the display to change to the alarm time (or press LAP/RESET to
begin immediately).
C. Press START/STOP until the symbol appears and press LAP/RESET until the
symbol appears on the line between the upper and lower display.
D. The represents ALARM. When this symbol is present, the alarm is armed in that
time zone. The alarm will sound for 20 seconds every 24 hours unless it is disarmed. When the alarm is active, it can be silenced by pressing any button.
E. The backup alarm will sound in 5 minutes if the alarm is not silenced by pressing a
button prior to the end of the 20 second alarm period. The symbol will flash to confirm that the backup alarm is activated.
F. The represents HOURLY CHIME. When this symbol is shown, the watch will
beep once on the hour every hour. Also when the chime is activated, all button presses will be confirmed by a beep (except during setting modes).
ALARM POP-UP OPERATION A. When the alarm sounds, the alarm display will appear in place of any other display
which may be in use at the time.
B. Press any button to turn off the sound.
C. During the POP-UP you can press START/STOP to disarm the alarm and in 4
seconds the display which was in use when the POP-UP occurred will return.
Press RECALL/SET to enter the alarm time set mode. You can now set a new alarm time (see HOW TO SET THE ALARM). The 4 second timeout does not apply while in the set mode. After setting a new alarm time, press RECALL/SET to exit from the setting mode. The display in use prior to the POP-UP will return 4 seconds later.
NOTE: The HOURLY CHIME cannot be set during POP-UP.

SECTION 8 – HOW TO SET/USE THE MULTI-MODE COUNTDOWN TIMER
SELECTING TIMER MODE A. Press and release MODE until TIMER appears in upper display, then 1 second later
the TIMER mode function select display will appear.
Press START/STOP or LAP/
RESET to select desired mode:
1. Countdown and stop timer
(CDS) - Counts down to zero and sounds the alarm.
2. Countdown and repeat (CDR) - The timer counts down to zero and while the alarm is
sounding, immediately begins to count down again from the previously set time. This will be repeated until stopped.
3. Countdown and then Countup in the Chronograph mode (CDC) or Auto-Start -
Counts down to zero, sounds the alarm and immediately starts the CHRONOGRAPH. You may use the chronograph as described in Section 6 at this point. When this mode is activated, the CHRONOGRAPH mode cannot be used. Likewise, if the CHRONOGRAPH mode is active, the (CDC) function will not be offered as a Timer Mode Select option. The chronograph must be reset first.
B. After selecting the TIMER mode, press RECALL/SET to enter setting mode. C. The TENS OF HOURS will be flashing on the top line and the currently selected time
zone will appear on the lower line.
D. Press MODE or START/STOP to select UNITS OF HOURS, press LAP/RESET to
adjust UNITS OF HOURS.
E. Press MODE or START/STOP to select TENS OF MINUTES, press LAP/RESET to
adjust TENS OF MINUTES.
F. Press MODE or START/STOP to select UNITS OF MINUTES, press LAP/RESET to
adjust UNITS OF MINUTES.
G. Press MODE or START/STOP to select TENS OF SECONDS, press LAP/RESET to
adjust TENS OF SECONDS.
H. Press MODE or START/STOP to select UNITS OF SECONDS, press LAP/RESET to
adjust UNITS OF SECONDS.
I. Press RECALL/SET to exit from setting mode at any time. The TIMER is now in the
standby position and ready to be used. While the TIMER is waiting to be started, the NORMAL TIME is displayed in the lower line of the display. If you do not wish to use
the timer immediately, press MODE to return to NORMAL TIME. NOTE: The TIMER can be set to 99 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds. The countdown is in 1 second increments.
OPERATION OF COUNTDOWN TIMER A. From the standby position in timer mode, press START/ STOP to begin the
countdown. While the timer is counting down you may switch to another mode of operation without affecting the timer operation. When the timer reaches zero the timer display will appear for the duration of the alarm to show you the reason for the alarm. Pressing any button will stop the alarm and return to previous display.
B. To stop the timer press START/STOP. YOU MUST BE IN THE TIMER MODE to
operate the timer.
C. If the timer has been stopped prior to reaching zero, press START/STOP to continue
the countdown or press LAP/RESET to reset the timer to the previously set time. The currently selected time zone will appear in the lower line of the display.
D. To set the TIMER to a new time, press RECALL/SET to activate the set mode, and
proceed as described at the start of Section 8, Step C.
E. To select a new TIMER mode, while the timer is reset, press and hold LAP/RESET
while the display shows "HOLD 2 RESET". After 2 seconds the TIMER mode select display will appear and a new mode can be selected.
SECTION 9 – BATTERY REPLACEMENT
One battery provides the power to operate your Timex watch. TIMEX STRONGLY RECOMMENDS TAKING YOUR WATCH TO A LOCAL RETAILER OR JEWELER TO HAVE THE BATTERY REPLACED. The battery type required for your watch is indicated on the caseback.
IMPORTANT NOTE: After replacing the battery, be sure to press the reset switch if indicated on the battery clamp.
If your watch should ever fail to operate correctly, you can attempt to reset it without removing the caseback, by pressing all buttons at the same time.
CAUTION: DO NOT DISPOSE OF OLD BATTERY IN FIRE OR ATTEMPT TO RECHARGE. KEEP LOOSE BATTERIES AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
When installed at the factory, the battery life in this Timex watch is estimated to last approximately 3 years. This estimate is based on the alarm being used once per day for ten seconds and the light once per day for one second. Battery life may vary depending on your actual usage experience. The use of NIGHT-MODE INDIGLO®night-light to activate for three seconds with any button press, may reduce battery life.

The Basic Coverage: This TIMEX Quartz Digital L.C.D. (liquid crystal display) watch
LIMITED WARRANTY
(but not any battery, lens, band or strap) is warranted to the owner for a period of ONE YEAR from the date of purchase against defects in manufacture by Timex Corporation - not by the dealer from whom the watch was purchased.
What Timex Will Do: If this watch develops such a defect within the one year period, it will be repaired (i.e., a new or thoroughly reconditioned and inspected module will be installed) or replaced ( a watch of equal value and similar appearance will be supplied) at our option, provided it is returned with a $5.00 check or money order to cover costs of postage, handling and service, and you provide proof of purchase and date of purchase.
This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover:
1) Timex will not repair defects related to servicing not performed by Timex Corporation or a Timex Authorized Service Center.
2) Timex will not provide any warranty service if your watch shows evidence that it has been tampered with, misused, abused, or altered; for example:
moisture damage sufficient to affect the proper function of the watch;
damage to the case; or
visible cracking of the lens.
3) Timex reserves the right to charge you for a replacement battery, if the battery in
your watch is depleted. No additional charge will be made unless the one year warranty period has expired or servicing is necessary for reasons beyond our control, in which case a moderate charge will be made.
4) TIMEX IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental, special or consequential damages, so the above exclusion or limitation may not apply to you.
Your Rights Under Implied Warranties and State Law: THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESSED WARRANTIES, OBLIGATIONS OR LIABILITIES. TIMEX LIMITS THE DURATION OF ANY WARRANTY IMPLIED BY STATE LAW, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TO ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
Care of Your Watch:
Avoid exposing your watch to water, steam, or other forms of moisture if it is non-
water-resistant.
If the lens becomes damaged, have it replaced at once to avoid damage to the
module.
When your battery is depleted, have it replaced promptly. The particular type of
battery required is indicated on your caseback. You can get them from your local Timex retailer.
