7. WATER HEATER CONTROL
Control panel WHEL–3 … model (Fig. 4), WHEL-6… / WHEL-7… model (Fig. 5)
Fig. 4 Fig. 5
Water heater operation
- Feed water to the water heater and switch on electric power supply.
- Water flow is controlled by the mixer at the water inlet to the water heater. It is prohibited to install a mixer and/or shut off water feeding at outlet from the water heater.
- Water heating is activated using a switch (Fig.4; Fig.5)
- It is necessary to wait for 10-20 sec until temperature of heated water is
stabilized.
- To switch off the water heater, you can just shut off water flow at inlet to the appliance. At that, the pressure sensor will automatically open the electric power supply circuit to the heating element. To switch on the water heater again, it is sufficient to just open the valve.
Water heater operation
Inlet water is heated, when it flows through the heating element inside the vessel. Water temperature in the water mains may fluctuate throughout the year from 3°C to 20°C. To obtain the optimum temperature in winter, water flow shall be made lower than in summer.
ATTANTIONS!
The WHEL-3 series shall be used in a summer season with temperature of inlet water - +16-18°C
The water heater is equipped with the following instrumentation:
- The heating element is activated only at optimum water pressure in range from 0.03 to 0.6 MPa. Its lower range value is automatically monitored by the integrated pressure sensor.
If inlet pressure of water decreases excessively (below 0.03 MPa), the integrated pressure sensor trips and disconnects power supply.
- Thermal switch: it will stop power supply to the heating element in the event of water overheating in the water heater. If the water heater is switched on and water heating is activated, but water is not heated actually, this means tripping or need for reset of the thermal switch. To return the water heater to the operational condition, push the button on the thermal switch. For that, use the following procedure:
Switch off the electric heater, remove the front panel, push the black button located at the center of the thermal switch until the button clicks (the thermal switch itself is located from the right side of the water heater vessel on the heating element).
For adjustment of hot water temperature, you can use the valve at the inlet connection (cold water inlet) changing water flow rate. When you decrease inlet flow rate of water, you increase outlet temperature and vice versa.
- To switch on the appliance, it is necessary to place the switch to the «ON» position («Low» for WHEL-6/7… series)
- When the switch is in the «OFF» position - there is no heating.
- When the switch is in the «ON» position («High» for WHEL-6/7… series)
- heating is maximum.
- To adjust water heating temperature, you can change flow rate of water (using the flow control valve at the water inlet to the water heater).
- To switch off the appliance, place the switch to the «OFF» position and close the cold water feed valve.
ATTANTIONS!
Do not switch on the water heater, if you suspect freezing of water in it.
ATTANTIONS!
If these actions do not give a positive result or the thermal switch trips on repeated occasions for a short period of time, then switch off the water heater, shut off water feeding to the water heater, and contact the authorized service center of Timberk in your region for consultation or repair of the product.
The address of the authorized service center can be obtained from the vendor or at www.timberk.com.

10. DISPOSAL8. MAINTENANCE
During use of the water heater, scale may appear in nozzle openings of the shower or kitchen spout. This reduces efficiency of heating, deteriorated water spraying, and increases water pressure in the heating vessel. For prevention of such phenomena, it is necessary to periodically clean the nozzle using household chemical agents and soft brushes. Do not use abrasive cleaning substances and inappropriate chemical agents.
a) Outer care:
- Switch off the appliance and allow it to fully cool down.
- Clean the outer surface of the appliance enclosure using a slightly moistened soft cloth and then wipe it dry. Do not use abrasive cleaning substances.
b) Filter cleaning: If water flow rate from the heater decreases, it is necessary to clean the coarse filter installed at the cold water inlet to the water heater. Use the following procedure:
- Switch off the appliance and allow it to fully cool down.
- Shut off cold water feeding.
- Unscrew the cold water feed hose from the water heater, remove the coarse strainer and flush it under a jet of flowing water.
- Restore the inlet connections in the reverse sequence.
