1. The tii SVM-1R-P (Switchable Voice Module) is a microprocessor controlled module that provides seamless switching from Telco to VoIP service in multiple dwelling units (MDU’s).
The tii SVM-1R-P is for indoor use only.
Installation
1. Remove the unit from the bag and inspect it for damage. If damaged, obtain another unit.
2. Locate a suitable flat, dry area to install the unit.
3. The SVM-1R-P should be located near the first appearance of the Telco and VoIP Phone. The SVM-1R-P is supplied with double faced tape for secure installation.

1. Plug one end of the RJ-11 cable to the Local/Aux. Phone receptacle on the SVM-1R-P. Plug the other end to the phone at location (Figure’s 2 & 4).

2. Plug one end of another RJ-11 cable to the digital phone modem receptacle on the SVM-1R-P. Plug the other end to the RJ-11 output from MTA/EMTA of cable modem (Figures 2 & 4)

3. Plug on end of the RJ-11 cable to the Telco Input receptacle on the SVM-1R-P (Figures 2 & 4).
4. Wire the other end of the cable to the Telco input and other phone connections in multiple dwelling units.

Note: Hardware reset is needed to switch device to its initial state. The initial state for the SVM-1R-P is Telco mode.
1. For initial test connect Local Phone and MTA only. Check
for dial tone, if tone is present then the device isn’t reset.
Proceed to next step. If tone isn’t present skip step 2.
2. Gently push the reset button once with a blunt object to ensure the service to the customer is from the Telco Service Provider, observe the green LED blinking.
3. The SVM-1R-P will automatically switch to VoIP line and stay in this mode until reset again.
CAUTION: TO AVOID PERMANENT DAMAGE TO RESET
BUTTON DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE OR A POINTED OBJECT TO ACTIVATE THE RESET BUTTON.
