Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) Filter

Installation Note

Description

Installation

1. This installation note covers the installation
and operational testing of the tii 831W2 Radio
Frequency Interference (RFI) filter.

2. The tii 831W2 is a broadband low pass filter
which is placed in series with the telephone
circuits.

3. The filter is designed to eliminate interference
from the AM, FM, CB and TV VHF low bands.

4. The RFI filter circuit has no adjustments and is
essentially transparent to the telephone voice
band 200Hz – 4 KHz.

1. Identify the location where the RFI filter is to
be installed (preferably where the telephone
has maximum RFI interference).

2. Remove the RJ-11 plug of the telephone wire
from the wall outlet where the tii 831W2 is to
be installed. (See figure 2)

3. Insert the RJ-11 plug of the tii 831W2 into the
RJ-11 jack of the wall outlet. (See Figure 3)

4. Insert the RJ-11 plug of the telephone wire
into the tii 831W2 RJ-11 jack.

5. Test that dial tone is available by lifting up the
telephone receiver.

6. Use adhesive pad (supplied) to attach the tii
831W2 to the wall.
