1. GENERAL
1.1 The tii 68T Series Sealed Wire Termination Block
with test points is used where many parallel
connections to a single tip-ring pair are needed.
1.2 The tii 68T provides parallel connections in the
following configurations:
Model # Description
68T-1 1-pair input, 11 parallel pair outputs
68T-2 2-pair inputs, 5 parallel pair outputs each
1.3 Installation is accomplished using standard
technician tools.
2.1 Remove the tii 68T and inspect it for damage. If
damaged, obtain another unit.
2.2 Locate a suitable flat, dry area for installation.
2.3 Use two size #8 screws to mount the unit.
2.4 Lift the rocker of the input terminal to the full up
position. DO NOT strip wires.
2.5 Hold the wire pair to be terminated between
thumb and index finger.
2.6 Insert wires into wire guides simultaneously until
they bottom-out (Figure 1).
2.7 While holding wires in position, terminate rocker
by lowering to the full DOWN position. (See Note
Below)
2.8 Terminate any additional input or out pairs as
required following the above steps.
2.9 Test for line continuity using the test points.
(Figure 1).
2.10 To keep wire pairs organized, route them
through the wire looms (Figure 1).
Note:
When it is necessary to terminate to the block with a
wire larger than 22awg we suggest splicing 22awg or
smaller wire to the larger wire using a miniature
terminal splice such as 3M’s Scotchlok #UR2 (1926awg max, .155 dia. Insulation) or #314 (14-22awg,
max, .082 dia. Insulation).
