Operating Instructions for Model TIF7201 Infrared Thermometer
Thank you for purchasing our non-contact infrared thermometer. Please remember to keep away from children and don’t use it for safety related applications.
Battery replacement
The battery should be replaced immediately with a CR2032 lithium cell.
Use of the thermometer
(Always displays the Max measured temperature)
1 Always make sure the probe is clean without
any damage. 2 Power on: Press the “Meas. key”. 3 Temperature measurement: Press the “Meas.”
Key. The current measurement will be
continuously updated at the center of the LCD.
# The maximum measurement will also be continuously updated at the top of the LCD while
you press the “Meas. key”.
4 °C / °F switch: Power on and press the “Mode key” to change the scale to °C. The setting will be
reserved even if powered off.
5 Power off: Device will shut down automatically if left idle for more than 60sec to extend battery life.
Important notes
Storage & Cleaning: The sensor lens should be kept clean at all times and stored at room temperature.
1. Use only a soft cloth or cotton s wab with water or medic al alcoho l when cleani ng the len s.
2. Remember to allow the lens to fully dry before using.
3. The thermometer should be stored at –20 to +65
o
C (-4 to 149 oF).
1. Loosen the screw on the battery cover.
2. Open the battery cover from the seams of housing with your fingernail.
3. Use the screwdriver to take the battery out.
4. Replace the new battery on the left side of battery chamber and make sure the battery is hooked. Then
press the battery and you will hear the click sound.
5. Close the battery cover and fasten the screw on the battery cover.
If a malfunction occurs, restart the device. Keep the battery away from children.
Trouble shooting
‘Hi’ or ’Lo’ is displayed when the temperature being measured is outside of the range of the instrument, ‘Hi’ when higher than +220°C (428°F) and ‘Lo’ when
; For all other error messages it is necessary to reset the therm ometer. To reset the thermometer,
wait for the instrument to power off, remov e the battery and wait f or a minimum of one minute, reinsert the battery and turn on. If the error message remains please contact the Service Department for further assistance.

EMC/RFI: Readings may be affected if the unit is operated within radio frequency electromagnetic field strength of
approximately 3 volts per meter, but the performance of the instrument will not be permanently affected.
Avoid keeping the thermometer too close for long periods to objects that continuously generate high heat (like a
hot plate), which can cause overheating of the thermometer
