Vaporproof Light Kit

Installation Instructions

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS:

Please read and understand all instructions before beginning
assembly or installation.

Check your local electrical codes to make sure that your materials and
method of installation comply with all codes.

Suitable for use in wet locations when oriented with socket assembly
on top and metal guard and glass globe underneath.

Use all metal components to ensure proper grounding.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: The VAG-01-C and the VAG-02-C can mount to a Red•Dot 4-1/8” (10.5 cm)

round box model numbers: S110E, S215E, S-47, S-48 and S-71 using the enclosed
adapter ring. This ring is not needed when using the 3-1/2” (8.9 cm) round box model
numbers LVX-1 and LVX-2. Use all metal components to ensure proper grounding.

1. TURN OFF POWER.

2. Install and ground the metal outlet box according to product instructions (Figure 1).
3a. Using a 3-1/2” (8.9 cm) round box (Figure 2a):

• Position the socket assembly gasket between the socket assembly and the
round box.

• Hold the two white wires together and screw a wire connector clockwise over the
ends. Connect the two black wires in the same way. Carefully push all wiring into
the round box. Use all metal components to ensure proper grounding.

• Attach the socket assembly to the round box using the socket assembly mounting
screws (Figure 2a).

3b. Using a 4-1/8” (10.5 cm) round box (Figure 2b):

• Position the adapter ring gasket between the adapter ring and the round box.

• Attach the adapter ring to the round box using the two long adapter ring screws.

• Position the socket assembly gasket between the socket assembly and the

adapter ring.

• Hold the two white wires together and screw a wire connector clockwise over the
ends. Connect the two black wires in the same way. Carefully push all wiring into
the round box. Use all metal components to ensure proper grounding.

• Attach the socket assembly to the adapter ring using the socket assembly
mounting screws (Figure 2b).

4. Position the glass globe gasket around the lampholder socket so that it rests on the

bottom of the socket assembly (Figure 3).

5. Screw the lamp into the lampholder socket. Use a standard medium base
incandescent lamp. (VAG-01-C: 100 WATTS MAX, VAG-02-C: 200 WATTS MAX.
BOTH ARE ALSO COMPATIBLE WITH MOST SELF-BALLASTED COMPACT
FLUORESCENT LAMPS.) (Figure 3)

6. Screw the glass globe into the socket assembly.

7. Loosen the screws on the metal guard. Position the metal guard over the glass globe

so that the guard screws are positioned over the socket assembly tabs and secure by
tightening screws (Figure 4).

8. TURN ON POWER.

Always check your local electrical codes to ensure proper wiring.

WARNING

Remove the fuse, turn OFF the circuit breaker or otherwise disconnect

power at the source BEFORE beginning any electrical job.

Exceeding recommended bulb wattage and size will distort

polycarbonate lens. Do not use reflector style bulbs.

INSTALLATION

NOTE : Le VAG-01-C et le VAG-02-C peuvent être montés sur boîte ronde Red•Dot de

10,5 cm (4-1/8 po) modèles numéros : S110E, S215E, S-47, S-48 et S-71
à l'aide de l'anneau adaptateur fourni. L'anneau n'est pas nécessaire avec la boîte
ronde de 8,9 cm (3-1/2 po) modèles numéraux LVX-1 et LVX-2. Utiliser tous les éléments
métalliques pour garantir une bonne mise à la terre.

1. COUPER LE COURANT.

2. Installer et mettre à la terre la boîte de sortie métallique selon les instructions du

produit (Figure 1).

3a. En utilisant une boîte ronde de 8,9 cm (3-1/2 po) (Figure 2a) :

• Placer le joint d'étanchéité de l'ensemble douille entre celle-ci et la boîte ronde.

• Tenir les deux ls blancs ensemble et visser un capuchon de connexion dans le

sens horaire aux extrémités. Connecter les deux ls noirs de la même façon.
Rentrer soigneusement tout le câblage dans la boîte. Utiliser tous les éléments
métalliques pour garantir une bonne mise à la terre.

• Fixer l'ensemble douille à l'aide de ses vis de xation à la boîte ronde (Figure 2a).

3b. En utilisant une boîte ronde de 10,5 cm (4-1/8 po) (Figure 2b) :

• Placer le joint d'étanchéité de l'anneau adaptateur ring entre celui-ci et la
boîte ronde.

• Fixer l'anneau adaptateur à la boîte ronde à l'aide des deux longues vis
de l'anneau.

• Placer le joint d'étanchéité de l'ensemble douille entre celle-ci et la boîte ronde.

• Tenir les deux ls blancs ensemble et visser un capuchon de connexion dans le

sens horaire aux extrémités. Connecter les deux ls noirs de la même façon.
Rentrer soigneusement tout le câblage dans la boîte. Utiliser tous les éléments
métalliques pour garantir une bonne mise à la terre.

• Fixer l'ensemble douille à l'aide de ses vis de xation à l'anneau adaptateur
(Figure 2b).

4. Placer le joint d'étanchéité du globe de verre autour de la douille de l'ampoule an

qu'il repose contre le fond de l'ensemble douille (Figure 3).

5. Visser l'ampoule dans sa douille. Utiliser une lampe incandescente standard à culot
moyen. (VAG-01-C 100 WATTS MAX, VAG-02-C : 200 WATTS MAX. LES DEUX

SONT AUSSI COMPATIBLES AVEC LA PLUPART DES FLUORESCENTS COMPACTS

6. Placer le globe de verre dans l'ensemble douille.

7. Desserrer les vis de la grille protectrice métallique. Placer la grille protectrice métallique

sur le globe de verre an que les vis de la grille soient placées contre les languettes de
l'ensemble douille et xer en les serrant (Figure 4).

8. REMETTRE LE COURANT.

Toujours vérier les codes électriques locaux pour garantir un câblage approprié.

MISE EN GARDE

Retirer le fusible, mettre le disjoncteur hors tension ou déconnecter

l'alimentation à la source AVANT de commencer un travail électrique.

ATTENTION

Dépasser la puissance et la taille recommandées de l'ampoule

déformera la lentille de polycarbonate. Ne pas utiliser d'ampoules

de type réflecteur.

ATTENTION

Pour éviter un risque d'incendie, laisser un espace d'au moins à 2 po

(5 cm) entre le boîtier et l'ampoule et les structures environnantes.

Instrucciones de instalación

CONSEJOS DE SEGURIDAD IMPORTANTES:

Por favor lea y comprenda todas las instrucciones antes de comenzar
el ensamblaje o la instalación.

Consulte los códigos eléctricos locales para asegurarse de que los
materiales y el método de instalación cumplan con todos los códigos.

Adecuado para uso en lugares húmedos cuando es instalado con el
conjunto del portalámparas en la parte superior y el protector metálico
y la pantalla de vidrio en la parte inferior.

INSTALACIÓN

NOTA: VAG-01-C y VAG-02-C pueden montarse en una caja circular Red•Dot de 4-1/8"

(10.5 cm) modelos números: S110E, S215E, S-47, S-48 y S-71 utilizando el anillo
adaptador incluido. Este anillo no es necesario cuando se usa la caja circular de
3-1/2" (8.9 cm) modelo número LVX-1 y LVX-2. Use todos los componentes metálicos
para asegurar una conexión a tierra adecuada.

1. DESCONECTE LA ELECTRICIDAD.

2. Instale y conecte a tierra la caja de salida metálica de acuerdo con las instrucciones

del producto (Figura 1).

3a. Usando una caja circular de 3-1/2" (8.9 cm) (Figura 2a):

• Coloque la junta del conjunto del portalámparas entre éste y la caja circular.

• Mantenga juntos los dos alambres blancos y enrosque un conector de alambre en

los extremos girándolo en sentido horario. Conecte los dos alambres negros de la
misma forma. Cuidadosamente empuje todo el cableado dentro de la caja circular.
Use todos los componentes metálicos para asegurar una conexión a tierra adecuada.

• Fije el conjunto del portalámparas a la caja circular utilizando los tornillos de montaje
del conjunto del portalámparas (Figura 2a).

3b. Usando una caja circular de 4-1/8" (10.5 cm) (Figura 2b):

• Posicione la junta del anillo adaptador entre el anillo adaptador y la caja circular.

• Fije el anillo adaptador a la caja circular utilizando los dos tornillos largos del anillo

adaptador.

• Coloque la junta del conjunto del portalámparas entre el conjunto del portalámparas
y el anillo adaptador.

• Mantenga juntos los dos alambres blancos y enrosque un conector de alambre en
los extremos girándolo en sentido horario. Conecte los dos conductores blancos de
la misma forma. Cuidadosamente empuje todo el cableado dentro de la caja circular.
Use todos los componentes metálicos para asegurar una conexión a tierra adecuada.

• Fije el conjunto del portalámparas al anillo adaptador utilizando los tornillos de
montaje del conjunto del portalámparas (Figura 2b).

4. Coloque la junta de la pantalla de vidrio alrededor del portalámparas para que se apoye

en la parte inferior del conjunto del portalámparas (Figura 3).

5. Enrosque la bombilla en el portalámparas. Use una bombilla incandescente de base
mediana estándar (VAG-01-C: 100 VATIOS MÁX, VAG-02-C: 200 VATIOS MÁX.

6. Enrosque la pantalla de vidrio en el conjunto del portalámparas.

7. Aoje los tornillos del protector metálico. Coloque el protector metálico sobre la pantalla

de vidrio para que los tornillos del protector se encuentren sobre las pestañas del
conjunto del portalámparas y asegure apretando los tornillos (Figura 4).

8. CONECTE LA ELECTRICIDAD.

Verique siempre los códigos eléctricos locales para asegurar un cableado adecuado.

ADVERTENCIA

DESCONECTE LA ELECTRICIDAD:

Retire el fusible, APAGUE el interruptor automático de circuitos

o desconecte el suministro de electricidad en la fuente ANTES de

comenzar cualquier trabajo eléctrico.

ADVERTENCIA

Manténgalo alejado de materiales combustibles.

PRECAUCIÓN

Exceder la potencia en vatios y el tamaño recomendado de la bombilla

deformará los lentes de policarbonato. No utilice bombillas tipo reflector.

PRECAUCIÓN

Para evitar el riesgo de incendio, coloque la carcasa y la bombilla dejando

un espacio de 2" (5 cm) como mínimo de las estructuras adyacentes.
