sharpening a pencil).
4.2 Smear a thin layer of T&B joint
compound on wire to seal the joint
from corrosion.
4.3 Work compound down between the
strands by using wire brush or emery
cloth.

will cause the tool to become locked. To correct
this, follow these steps:
5.1 Close the handles and slide the
directional lever to the opposite
direction.
5.2 Open and close handles once.
5.3 With handles closed move the directional lever back to the desired position
and continue to operate the tool.

CHECKING TOOL CALIBRATION
Check the tool periodically for proper calibration.
Follow these steps:
6.1 Place matching die set (13470) in tool.
See section 2.0 (INSTALLING OR
CHANGING DIES).
6.2 Close tool per section 1.0 (OPENING
AND CLOSING THE TOOL).

AND CLOSING THE TOOL).
7.2 Remove screw from adjusting wrench
(See gure 1) using the 1/8 inch Allen

already placed on the adjusting nut.
Turn the adjusting nut one at (this is
1/8 to 1/4 turn clockwise to add clicks
