ACCESS FLOOR MODULE
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
USING THE AFM COVER WITH CORDS

IMPORTANT: Read all instructions before installing the AFM

1) Open AFM Lid: Pull Latch Button back until Lid pops up. Lift and lay Lid to the side (see Figures 2 and 3).
2) Plug in data and power cords as needed and route over Cord Ramp. Rotate Lid so that Cord Slot is directly over Cord Ramp (see Figure 4).
3) Close AFM Lid: Make certain cords are within the slot opening. Insert Lid Tab into slot in Carpet Flange and push opposite end downwards to engage latch and snap Lid closed (see Figures 5 and 6).

CLOSING THE COVER
1) Open and Lift AFM Lid (see Step 1 on back page and Figure 2 and 3).
2) Unplug and remove all cords. Rotate Lid so that Cord Slot is in closed position. Insert Lid Tab into slot in Carpet Flange and push downward to snap Lid closed.

RECESSED FLOOR TRIM IN LID
The AFM-4-XXX-R Lids have a 3/16” Deep Recessed Area on top for attaching oor covering. Cut ooring to: 4-5/8” x 5-3/8” to t recess and secure with appropriate adhesive (see Figure 7).

AFM-2: 7-1/8” X 4-1/8” AFM-4: 7-15/16” X 7-15/16”
1) Cut hole in raised panel for oor box per sizes above.
2) Install AFH Bracket (furnished with box) on raised oor panel as shown to match the set screws used to hold the box in place. Place brackets in center of cutout opening on sides where set screws are used (see Figure 8).
3) Hold AFH Bracket tightly against the side and bend legs around edge to engage bottom of oor panel.
4) Before lowering AFM Box into hole on wood or tile oors, apply caulk or sealant to the underside of Carpet Flange to block water entry (see Figure 8).
5) Lower AFM into cut hole and attach Conduit and Fittings as required to meet National and Local Electrical Code requirements.
6) Install 1-1/8” long set screws (furnished with box) to engage bracket as shown (see Figure 8).
AFM-4-ALM-N:
1) Cut hole in raised panel for oor box 7-15/16” x 7-15/16”.
2) (For a moisture-resistant application) Before lowering AFM Box into the hole in the oor, apply a generous bead of caulk/sealant to the perimeter on underside of the Carpet Flange.
3) Making sure the Swing Arms are positioned up against the sides of the Box, lower AFM into the hole. Once it seats and with the main Cover removed, using a Phillips screwdriver, turn the 2-1/4” SS screws threaded through the Swing Arms, clockwise until the Arm rotates and stops-then continue tightening the screw(s) until the Arm engages the underside of the ooring (see Figure 9).
4) Assemble conduit and ttings to the Floor Box per Local and National Electrical Code requirements.
ACTIVATION
STEP 1) Open Lid to access inside of box
STEP 2) Attach device(s) as required.
STEP 3) Install all wiring and devices in accordance with
National and Local Electrical Codes.
